Domaine Seguinot Bordet Petit Chablis
2023 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Petit Chablis
88-91BH

With family roots in Chablis dating back to 1590, Domaine Séguinot-Bordet is one of the region’s oldest estates, known for producing classical wines that emphasize pure vineyard expression. The domaine’s Petit Chablis vineyards are located on the elevated plateaus around Maligny, where limestone-rich soils and cool exposures produce Chardonnay with vibrant acidity and distinctive chalky freshness. Jean-François Bordet’s restrained use of oak and focus on lees aging preserve the wine’s crisp citrus character and saline minerality, showcasing the energy and value that make Petit Chablis one of Burgundy’s great lesser-known appellations.

Acumen "PEAK" Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
2021 Acumen "PEAK" Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
97TWI

Wine Review Online - 100-points: "After tasting blind and arriving at a big score, I remember that I have given this particular bottling the big score in two previous vintages — 2015 and 2016 — and right out of the gate, this vintage appears to be in the same rarified air as those two wines. There is so much going on here, and it’s all just starting to show itself through the structured backbone. The Cabernet hallmarks are here, with lively blackberry and cassis, rich oak spice, crushed rock and earthy mineral notes that are an Atlas Peak signature, all fine tuned and beautiful. Dare I say this is a bargain when it comes to high end Napa Valley Cabernet? I do so dare — without reservation. Transcendent wine!"

Anonymous Wine Collective Contra Costa County Rosé of Mourvedre
2025 Anonymous Wine Collective Contra Costa County Rosé of Mourvedre

This marks our inaugural rosé under Anonymous—and it’s nothing short of phenomenal. Mediterranean in spirit and crafted from Mourvèdre, this dry rosé comes from ancient, own-rooted vines planted over 120 years ago in the deep, sandy soils of Contra Costa County. These venerable vines have endured for more than a century thanks to those remarkably sandy soils, which are inhospitable to phylloxera and allowed them to survive when so many others did not. Naturally low-yielding, the old vines produce fruit of striking concentration, purity, and freshness. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel, then aged for four months on fine lees in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak to build texture and nuance without sacrificing vibrancy. The result is a beautifully expressive rosé brimming with bright, juicy red fruit, hibiscus, alpine strawberry, and hints of spiced citrus peel, all underscored by a crystalline minerality. Dry and refreshingly precise, it balances crunchy fruit, tactile texture, and layered depth, finishing zesty and mouthwatering. I’ll be drinking this all spring and summer long—it’s simply delicious. (AG)" (07/2025) 90 points Decanter: "With vineyards straddling the border between Montefioralle and Panzano, Vecchie Terre di Montefili reaches heights of 550 metres. The annata is crafted from the estate’s younger vines averaging 25 years of age. It ages in 30-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks. An intensely balsamic nose brandishes grilled sage and rosemary with roasted coffee and dusty earth tossed in. Tight and concentrated, the palate does hint at red berry purity, but for now it is somewhat obscured by vigorous, drying tannins. It demands more time – and some serious protein. (MM)" (02/2025)

Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé
2025 Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé

There is the appellation of Bandol with its plethora of producers, some good, some mediocre; and then there is Château Pradeaux, the unique, inimitable, standard bearer for this ancient wine-growing district. Pradeaux is situated right on the outskirts of the town of St. Cyr Sur Mer, which lies directly on the Mediterranean between Toulon and Marseilles. The estate is owned by the Portalis family, which has owned this property since before the French Revolution. The domaine is currently under the direction of Cyrille Portalis, who continues to maintain the great traditions of this estate. Although the majority of the vineyards are planted to Mourvèdre, the Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé is composed of Cinsault and Grenache as well as Mourvèdre. After a short maceration on the skins, in order to extract a light color, the juice is fermented at low temperatures to retain freshness, fruit and bouquet. After being aged in stainless steel, the wine is normally bottled in the spring of the year following harvest. It is one of the richest of the rosés of France; dry but full-bodied with a floral bouquet. It is a very limited production wine, as most of the production at Château Pradeaux is used to make the formidable Bandol Rouge.

At the very top of the Haut-Médoc, embedded in a sea of gravel just next to the Gironde River north of St-Estèphe, sits the anomaly of the Left Bank: Château Coufran, the "Pomerol of the Médoc," so-called for its high propensity of Merlot vines in a region where Cabernet reigns supreme. While practically all of its Left Bank neighbors are making structured and powerful clarets, Coufran continues to make softer, silkier, classically tailored Right-Bank-style wines. Owned by the Miailhe family since 1924, the wine has been prized by those in the know for its early approachability and fantastic value, which is part of the reason it’s been a staple of K&L’s Bordeaux department for decades. Not only does the wine historically drink well at a younger age, it evolves beautifully over a five to ten year period. The 2009 is currently in a gorgeous spot, showing secondary development and complexity beyond the primary fruit of its youth.

Mas Codina Brut Nature Gran Reserva Cava Penedès
Mas Codina Brut Nature Gran Reserva Cava Penedès

K&L has been direct importing Cava from Mas Codina for well over a decade, and over that time they have developed a loyal fan base — and with good reason, as these are possibly some of the best-value sparkling wines we stock. While Cava from Penedès, the historic heart of sparkling wine production in Spain, is dominated by a handful of large corporate producers, small family-run wineries like Mas Codina continue to swim upstream, steadfastly devoted to producing high-quality, traditional method sparkling wines at very reasonable prices. The estate comprises just 40 hectares in the cool-climate Alt Penedès sub-region and was first established in 1681, passed down through the decades and now managed by brothers Toni and Jordi Garriga. While previous generations sold their fruit to larger wineries, in 1985 the then 17-year-old Toni began bottling wine at the estate. Since then, numerous improvements to the estate have been made, including organic certification, and the wines have never been better – each shipment we receive just seems to improve upon the last. Each wine is made from 100% organic estate-grown fruit, and all winemaking, bottling and aging is likewise done onsite. The Brut Nature Gran Reserva is 40% Macabeo, 30% Xarel-lo, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir and is aged for 30 months before disgorgement. Just 11.6% alcohol, the wine has a dosage of less than 1.5 g/L.

Bodegas Casa Juan "Señor de Lesmos" Reserva Rioja

Located in the beautiful medieval hilltop village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, Casa Juan is a small, family-owned winery that consistently produces aged Riojas that are honest, detailed and soulful expressions of the region. They are also some of most sensibly priced wines in the region, with the quality far outpacing their modest prices, which is why Casa Juan remains one of the most popular wineries we import directly, with a loyal and growing fanbase. The winery's origins trace back to the first half of the 20th century, when it occupied a historic underground cellar built beneath what had once been Laguardia's old flour mill. Its modern chapter, however, began in 1995 when Ángel Escudero and his wife, Araceli Sanchís, purchased and restored the historic winery while carefully preserving its traditional character. Today, Angel, along with his siblings (CArmen, SAntiago, JUlio and ANgel = Casa Juan) run the simple yet functional bodega, along with slightly under 30 hectares of vineyards they help to farm primarily themselves with no herbicides or pesticides. The wines typically contain mostly Tempranillo, with up to 15% Mazuelo. Most of the vineyards are mature, averaging around 45 years old, with some vines up to 100 years old. Primary fermentation occurs always with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, where the wines are eventually racked to barrels, which are used up to seven years and consist primarily of American oak.

The wine shows aromas of white peach, lemon peel and brioche. It is generous on the palate and is a classic pairing for all foods that love a good Chardonnay.

As Laxas "Laxas" Albariño Rias Baixas
2024 As Laxas "Laxas" Albariño Rias Baixas
90VN

As Laxas is a family-owned winery located in the Condado do Tea sub-rehion of Rías Baixas in Galicia, northwest Spain, specifically in the town of Arbo along the banks of the Miño River. This is the most interior of all the Rias Baixas sub-regions, leading to fuller-bodied, more exuberant styles of Albariño. The estate sits in a landscape of granite soils and rolling, river-carved terrain that strongly influences the freshness of its wines. The winery’s origins date back to the mid-to-late 19th century, with winemaking activity documented on the estate long before modern commercial production began. As Laxas officially began commercial production in the mid-1970s and quickly became one of the pioneering estates in the region. The winery was among the early members involved in the creation of the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin (DO) in the 1980s, playing a role in establishing the standards that define Albariño production today. Over time, the estate has grown significantly, now farming dozens of hectares of vineyards—primarily Albariño, with smaller plantings of other native Galician varieties—spread across estate-owned and locally sourced parcels.

93 points James Suckling: "Lovely transparency to this, with subtle honeysuckle, lemon rind and honey in the nose. It's medium-bodied with a refined texture and beautiful length. Real white Burgundy for the money. Drink now." (05/2025) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Peach, almond, toasty oak and earth notes highlight this plush white. Backed by lively acidity that drives the spicy, bitter citrus finish. Shows fine balance and length. Drink now through 2028." (12/2025) 90 points Decanter: "There’s an appealing Granny Smith apple and nectarine fruit aroma with a hint of white blossom on the initial attack. The texture is surprisingly fresh for the vintage, and the finish is elegantly lovely – astonishing quality given the volume of production.(CC)" (05/2025) Jasper Morris: "In bottle. 200,000 bottles. One third made in tank, two-thirds in barrel. Pale colour with a faint lime streak. There is a minor reduction with the intention of maintaining freshness, and the nose does seem to be just a little leaner than before. Not as concentrated as 2022 for example, but still with persistence. A little citrus wash at the back. Drink from 2025-2028. " (01/2025) Burghound: "A riper but still attractively fresh and bright nose reflects mostly notes of various what orchard fruit and a more subtle citrus nuance. The generously proportioned, round and seductively textured flavors culminate in an agreeably clean, dry and balanced, if not particularly complex finale. This too should drink well young." La Chablisienne Collaboration Estate Chablis "Cuvee Centenaire"
2023 La Chablisienne Collaboration Estate Chablis "Cuvee Centenaire"

Wine Advocate's Neal Martin writes: "La Chablisienne is one of Chablis’ most high-profile cooperatives and a great success story. Founded back in 1923 and still going strong, it is said that they oversee approximately one-quarter of the region’s production, around 300 individual growers. Therefore, just like Georges Duboeuf in Beaujolais or Louis Jadot in the Cote d’Or, it is important that they maintain standards irrespective of high volumes, since their size ensures that they have an ambassadorial role for Chablis, for ordinary punters perhaps seeking to broaden their horizons."

Haut-Peyrat, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux
2022 Haut-Peyrat, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux

95 points Decanter: "Soft herbal accents join ripe bramble fruit and perfumed floral notes on the nose - aromatically appealing. Supple and alive, great energy from the start here with vibrant acidity giving this a lifted expression. Tannins are chalky and supportive, coating the mouth in flavour and texture and carrying the strawberry, red cherry and plum fruit to a long finish. Extremely well executed with focus and elegance as well as complexity and character. A touch of dried herbs and tobacco join the palate with mint and lovely terroir markers of iodine, slate, graphite, a bloody tang and mint. Sleek and streamlined this is a great wine with plenty of ageing potential. Can be opened now to enjoy the finesse in its youth but will no doubt improve over the next 5-15 years. 5% Malbec completes the blend. Indigenous yeasts for spontaneous fermentation, ageing for 12 months mostly in one use barrels. (GH)" (01/2025)

Welcome to "Rendez-Vous," our newest K&L private label. This latest addition to our lineup fulfills the promise K&L has always strives to deliver: exceptional quality wines that reflect the authenticity of their place, producer, and varieties - all at a price that makes sense. This inaugural release comes from our longtime friends in the Southern Rhône, Dauvergne et Ranvier. While they farm excellent holdings throughout the region, this particular blend is sourced from the more prestigious Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation. A step above standard Côtes du Rhône, these higher-ranked sites produce fruit at lower yields, resulting in greater concentration and character. After a series of blending trials, we landed on a beautifully Syrah-dominant cuvée. Composed of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, it captures all the inviting hallmarks of a classic Rhône blend, delivering vibrant red fruit and layered spice with impressive depth and approachability.
