This will be your new go-to value chardonnay! It supplies just the right amount of ripe orchard and stone fruits with bright minerals on the finish. The palate is a balance of (in order) peach, nectarine and golden apple. As aforementioned, it finishes clean with a nice dose of tangy minerals. It is Chalone fruit after all! At a heck of a bargain price.

Deals like this don't come along very often, even in a soft market. This wine not only combines Californa's sunny generosity with excellent freshness due to the giant temperature swings at Chalone, but also has a totally unique signature of minerality from this best in class old vine site. I love rich stone fruit and bright liveliness in this wine for just enjoying on its own. If you want it all and don't want to spend too much- get yourself some before it is gone.

Overshine Wine Co. is a relatively new winery based in Healdsburg. The wines are crafted by renowned winemaker Sam Bilbro (Idlewild). Overshine seeks out truly special vineyards that produce distinctive wines. The goal is simple: let great sites and meticulous farming lead the conversation, keep the winemaking simple and transparent, so the wines are pure, vibrant and authentic. Chalone Vineyard has to be in the top 5 most distinctive vineyard sites in all of California. The combination of radical limestone and granite soils, high elevation, subtle coastal influence but almost high-desert like microclimate, all make this place absolutely unique and singular when it comes to growing grapes. What's interesting is that you VERY rarely see Chalone Vineyard fruit bottled outside of the estate label.
