Quivering with fragrant florals, fresh orchard fruits and passionfruit nuance that enrobes the soft, succulence of the palate. Expressive and complex with a fine seam of grapefruit acidity that carries the finely-tuned aromas to the finish. *Platinum Medal - 2026 Decater World Wine Awards*

Intense Key lime, lemongrass and pear flavors are fleshy, bright and precise in this white, showing details of tangerine, kiwifruit and grapefruit, with sleek notes of saline and green tea, plus a hint of white pepper on a mouthwatering frame. (MW)

The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc Martinborough offers an appealing balance between ripe citrus, elderflower, nettle and flint. It is delicate and aromatic with a long, scented finish. (RG)

It's rare to find a wine that can claim to be amongst the best in its country while still offering value. The 2025 Craggy Range “Te Muna” Sauvignon Blanc is exactly that: it is one of only two New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs to earn 97 points at this year's Decanter World Wine Awards, yet it remains remarkably affordable. This wine is fresh, crisp and clean, with aromas of white peach, ripe citrus, and juicy passionfruit. The palate follows with notes of mandarin, grapefruit zest, and subtle hints of fresh green herbs over a core of stony minerality. Vibrant acidity provides energy and precision, carrying the wine to a long, bone-dry finish that is both refreshing and focused. There is plenty of fruit here, but it is delivered with restraint and elegance rather than overt exuberance, allowing the wine’s terroir-driven character to shine through. While Marlborough remains the country’s best-known region for the variety, Martinborough, on the North Island, offers a compelling alternative, producing wines with greater mineral intensity and savory complexity. The 2025 Te Muna is a brilliant example of what makes this region so distinctive. Impeccably styled, with exceptional balance, texture, and complexity that stands comfortably alongside New Zealand’s best examples, this is a Sauvignon Blanc that sets the bar for others to follow.

Notes

93 points, The Real Review: "A restrained and complex sauvignon blanc with subtle layers of green apple, olive leaf, fresh herbs, tomato stalk and wet stone all seamlessly melding into each other across the mid-weight, dry palate. Clearly still youthful with a fine line of saline acidity running throughout, this will come into its own in the coming months and provide refreshing drinking for a year or two before turning complex and contemplative. (SW) Craggy Range's Te Muna Road Vineyard sits in Martinborough, with Sauvignon Blanc planted on the estate's stony lower terrace. Founded by the Peabody family with a focus on single-vineyard bottlings, Craggy Range has made Te Muna one of its key sites for Sauvignon Blanc outside Marlborough.
