Acumen "PEAK" Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
2021 Acumen "PEAK" Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
97TWI

Wine Review Online - 100-points: "After tasting blind and arriving at a big score, I remember that I have given this particular bottling the big score in two previous vintages — 2015 and 2016 — and right out of the gate, this vintage appears to be in the same rarified air as those two wines. There is so much going on here, and it’s all just starting to show itself through the structured backbone. The Cabernet hallmarks are here, with lively blackberry and cassis, rich oak spice, crushed rock and earthy mineral notes that are an Atlas Peak signature, all fine tuned and beautiful. Dare I say this is a bargain when it comes to high end Napa Valley Cabernet? I do so dare — without reservation. Transcendent wine!"

Bunnahabhain 13 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt #19 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
2012 Bunnahabhain 13 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt #19 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Bunnahabhain has always been Islay’s quiet outlier, a distillery founded in 1881 at the "mouth of the river" on the island’s far northeast shore, where a purpose-built village grew up around the stillhouse and, for decades, the only practical access was by sea. That remoteness helped preserve a house style that feels unmistakably coastal yet often avoids the heavy peat that defines many of its neighbors. In a single cask, that personality gets turned up to high resolution: the maritime lift, the oily weight paired with dense dark sherry, creating that unmistakable tension of salty malt and Jerez rancio. The distillery’s famously wide neck stills and large onion base create an undeniably unique spirits, which always seems to shine even through the most active sherry cask. This beautiful butt of Bunnahabhain was selected by the K&L Buying team in the Spring of 2025. It was filled into a a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt on May 28th of 2012 and bottled on August 18th of 2025 at a natural cask strength of 128.6 proof. We're extremely grateful to our dear friends at Signatory for finding these special gems and offering them to us at such reasonable prices. Very few other bottlers have so consistently offered such a high quality single malt than the good people at Signatory.

95 points James Suckling: "A super lean, racy, mineral-driven wine, so fresh and linear and full of energy. Crisp green apples and lemon pith. Light-bodied and refreshing. At just 12% alcohol it's easy to sip and enjoy multiple glasses. Fermented in oak barrels with native yeast and native malolactic for a slightly smoother texture. Drink now. (JG)" (02/2025) 94 points Decanter: "The 2023 Ernest Sonoma Coast Chardonnay shows an outstanding balance of minerality, citrus, texture, and just a hint of reductiveness. The grapes come from the estate vineyard and different sections of the Ocean View Vineyard (old vines Clone 4 and younger plantings of Wente), right on the edge of Green Valley and the Sonoma Coast. On the nose, you'll get lemon zest, crunchy orchard fruit, and a touch of honeysuckle, leading into a mouthful of citrus peels, saline minerality, and delicate creaminess. The grapes were picked in mid-September - about a month later than 2022 - and spent nine months in barrique (25% new French oak, lightly toasted to add texture). The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation, with no bâtonnage, and was filtered for clarity. It's a precise coastal Chardonnay. Delicious. (ACQ)" (03/2025)

Launois "Helia" Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne
2017 Launois "Helia" Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Without a doubt, this is one of the best Champagnes we carry at any price. This is made from the Launois "mother vines" the massal selected old vines planted from 1947-1953 on the best mid-slope sites of their grand cru vineyards in Mesnil, Oger and Cramant. This replaces their special club bottling, and is sourced from exactly the same vineyards that used to make that blend. This shows off how well Chardonnay did in 2017 with laser like focus and a display of chalk that is hard to find in any other bottling, but at the same time remains creamy and generous. William Harrison Estate Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
2022 William Harrison Estate Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

William Harrison Vineyards & Winery is a small family estate in the Rutherford AVA of Napa Valley, founded by Bill Harrison, whose grandfather Antonio Perelli-Minetti was one of California's pioneering winemakers after immigrating from Italy in 1902. The seven-acre estate vineyard is planted to all five Bordeaux red varieties on Cortina series gravelly sandy loam soils against the eastern foothills of the Vaca Mountain range, with the first vintage produced under the Harrison label in 1993. After the winery recently changed hands, we acquired some of their wines at pennies on the dollar and we're passing the savings on to you! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)

The K&L Liquors' 36 Year Old "Enviable" (Balvenie) Batch #2 K&L Exclusive Single Vintage Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
1989 The K&L Liquors' 36 Year Old "Enviable" (Balvenie) Batch #2 K&L Exclusive Single Vintage Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

Another incredible deal from the depths of Scotland's vast blending apparatus. This is a completely different lot than the first Sideburns, but the exact same blend. Our friends at Cadenhead's would sell this style of blended malt as "Burnside," but rather than push our luck after Sideburns raised a few eyebrows, we’re offering this special parcel of 36 year old blended malt under the cheeky "Enviable" label. If you're sharp with wordplay or familiar with Burnside, the reference should be clear. While we cannot state the distillery outright, this whisky is composed primarily of the famous malt produced in Dufftown under the William Grant system. By strict legal definition it is simply another blended malt of considerable age, but in terms of quality it stands among the finest whisky being produced in Scotland today. The practice of teaspooning was developed within the blending trade to prevent competitors from capitalizing on a distillery’s name, adding a trace amount of another malt to obscure origin. With that in mind we’ll stay tactful, but even minimal research will point you in the right direction. There is no question that the whisky in this bottle represents extraordinary pedigree, and without that minute addition from a neighboring distillery its value would be many times what we’re asking. The quirks of the Scotch market can be remarkable, and moments like this are exactly where they benefit the drinker.

Glen Garioch 27 Year Old "Redacted Bros." (Thompson/Dornoch) Single Ex-Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
1998 Glen Garioch 27 Year Old "Redacted Bros." (Thompson/Dornoch) Single Ex-Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This special old barrel was bottled by our friends at Dornoch Distillery under the festive Dornoch Castle Hotel Anniversary label. This series of exceptionally curated casks was selected to commemorate 25 years of independent family ownership of the special property in the gorgeous little eponymously named town. The hotel is the site of both the original Dornoch Distillery and the fabulous whisky bar that Phil and Simon worked so hard to curate in the early years. It remains one of the world’s great whisky bars, tucked into a little corner of the hotel’s modest restaurant. It is simply unconscionable that the fabulous Glen Garioch distillery remains underappreciated by the wider whisky loving world. Founded in 1797 in the town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Glen Garioch is one of Scotland’s oldest operating distilleries. Long known for its robust Highland character, the distillery always maintained a muscular, cereal driven style that stands apart from many of its softer contemporaries. Today it remains a traditional plant with direct fired heritage and a reputation among insiders for producing spirit of remarkable texture and depth. That relative lack of mainstream recognition has translated into extraordinary opportunities at the higher end of the spectrum. It is remarkable that Thompson Bros has been able to secure such a high quality old Highlander at such a reasonable price. The obvious sleeper this year, but those who take the plunge will be greatly rewarded.

There is the appellation of Bandol with its plethora of producers, some good, some mediocre; and then there is Château Pradeaux, the unique, inimitable, standard bearer for this ancient wine-growing district. Pradeaux is situated right on the outskirts of the town of St. Cyr Sur Mer, which lies directly on the Mediterranean between Toulon and Marseilles. The estate is owned by the Portalis family, which has owned this property since before the French Revolution. The domaine is currently under the direction of Cyrille Portalis, who continues to maintain the great traditions of this estate. Although the majority of the vineyards are planted to Mourvèdre, the Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé is composed of Cinsault and Grenache as well as Mourvèdre. After a short maceration on the skins, in order to extract a light color, the juice is fermented at low temperatures to retain freshness, fruit and bouquet. After being aged in stainless steel, the wine is normally bottled in the spring of the year following harvest. It is one of the richest of the rosés of France; dry but full-bodied with a floral bouquet. It is a very limited production wine, as most of the production at Château Pradeaux is used to make the formidable Bandol Rouge.

What could be more civilized than treating your special someone (or yourself) to an aperitif of rosé Champagne? For good reason, the Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé defines the entire rosé Champagne category. Composed of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Meunier, it gets its color and rosé flavor from 8% red wine. The red wine is almost exclusively sourced from Billecart’s home village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, from massal-selected Pinot Noir plots of 60–80 years old. These plots are picked at still red wine ripeness—12% potential alcohol—and then de-stemmed and cold macerated before fermentation. It is this red wine that makes the Billecart Rosé so special, and unfortunately also limits the supply. The finished product is the most elegant, restrained, dry, and delicate wine that one could drink. The complexity is there if you search for it, but the pleasure is easy to find!

Winemaker Anthony Girard grew up in his family's Sancerre winery, but spent a number of years learning about wine production all over the world before returning home to continue working with Sauvignon Blanc. While helping with the namesake Girard label, Anthony wanted to create his own project on the side and eventually purchased a small plot of pristine real estate near the town of Récy, with primo Sancerre limestone soils. After acquiring the vines, he was given a large key as a symbolic gesture of new ownership, a "clef du récit," which became the name of the estate. While the heavy limestone content helps the fruit retain bright acidity, a portion of the vineyard is planted in flintier grounds, which adds minerality to the finish. Anthony's wines are renowned for their freshness and zip, crafted in true Sancerre fashion.

The U.S. has long been one of Billecart’s most important export markets, so this bottling was created as a commemorative release for that relationship, and the fact that 2018 was an exceptional vintage made the project even more fitting. The wine is made from 100% Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit, with a blend of 65% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 35% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Just 3% of the cuvée was vinified in oak, with the balance aged in stainless steel, then the wine spent 63 months sur latte before being finished as an Extra Brut with 4.9 g/L dosage. Bodegas Casa Juan "Señor de Lesmos" Reserva Rioja
2015 Bodegas Casa Juan "Señor de Lesmos" Reserva Rioja

Located in the beautiful medieval hilltop village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, Casa Juan is a small, family-owned winery that consistently produces aged Riojas that are honest, detailed and soulful expressions of the region. They are also some of most sensibly priced wines in the region, with the quality far outpacing their modest prices, which is why Casa Juan remains one of the most popular wineries we import directly, with a loyal and growing fanbase. The winery's origins trace back to the first half of the 20th century, when it occupied a historic underground cellar built beneath what had once been Laguardia's old flour mill. Its modern chapter, however, began in 1995 when Ángel Escudero and his wife, Araceli Sanchís, purchased and restored the historic winery while carefully preserving its traditional character. Today, Angel, along with his siblings (CArmen, SAntiago, JUlio and ANgel = Casa Juan) run the simple yet functional bodega, along with slightly under 30 hectares of vineyards they help to farm primarily themselves with no herbicides or pesticides. The wines typically contain mostly Tempranillo, with up to 15% Mazuelo. Most of the vineyards are mature, averaging around 45 years old, with some vines up to 100 years old. Primary fermentation occurs always with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, where the wines are eventually racked to barrels, which are used up to seven years and consist primarily of American oak.

(KK)" (09/2025) 92 points Vinous: "The NV Brut Réserve blends 40% each of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with 20% Pinot Meunier, containing up to 50% aged reserve wines. It spent four years on lees and opens with its characteristic smoky, sultry reduction. Redcurrant and lemon follow, leading to an ultra-clear, bright, vivid palate that is limpid with Chardonnay and structured with Pinot fruit, managing to be rich and rounded without a gram of fat. Supple autolysis appears as slightly peppery rye crumb, sitting well with this reductive style. Dosage is 9 grams per liter. (AK)" (12/2024) 92 points Decanter: "Even in the tricky 2017 vintage, Charles Heidsieck turns out an impeccable NV. The reserves form a serious, appetising core of dried apricot and sourdough around which zesty citrus, raspberry and bitter almond offer brightness and energy. Impressive detail and length. 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Meunier, based on the 2017 vintage with 50% reserve wines up to 20 years of age, with 9% barrel-fermented wines. (TH)" (10/2023) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 base was disgorged in 2024, and the NV Champagne Reserve Brut, with the oldest wine in the blend, is around 20 years old, while the heart of the blend averages ten years of age. It pours a golden yellow color and offers a signature style with a frothy mousse, brioche, almond skin, apricot, and preserved citrus. Medium to full-bodied, it expands on the palate, with a rounded mouthfeel and a chalky richness of texture. (AF)" (12/2025) 92 points John Gilman: " This is the same iteration of Charles Heidsieck “Brut Réserve” that I reported on a year ago, with the wine hailing from the base year of 2016 and having been disgorged in 2020. It has opened up nicely since that time, with the bouquet now delivering scents of apple, peach, chalky soil tones, fresh-baked bread, just a touch of buttery oak and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and complex, with a good core, lovely soil undertow, zesty acids, refined mousse and fine length and grip on the well balanced finish. This bottling always includes forty percent reserve wines in the blend. Good juice. " (04/2025) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A vibrant Champagne with a white fruit aroma offers a touch of maturity and richness that is typical of the Charles Heidsieck style. Red apples, citrus and toast give the wine a fine balance. (RV)" (12/2024) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Hints of brioche and lemon meringue pie enrich the flavors of cassis and apricot fruit, pickled ginger, smoke and roasted hazelnut in this classy Champagne, backed by vibrant acidity. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. (AN)" (09/2025)

Overshine "Tina's Block - Maple Vineyard" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
2022 Overshine "Tina's Block - Maple Vineyard" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Overshine Wine Co. is a relatively new winery based in Healdsburg. The wines are crafted by renowned winemaker Sam Bilbro (Idlewild). Overshine seeks out truly special vineyards that produce distinctive wines. The goal is simple: let great sites and meticulous farming lead the conversation,  keep the winemaking simple and transparent, so the wines are pure, vibrant and authentic. The 2022 Overshine Tina's Block is from a parcel of vines planted over 100 year ago in the deep gravelly soils of Dry Creek. Predominantly Zinfandel, but with small percentages of other grapes interplanted in the ancient field blend. If you enjoy the wines of Ridge, Bedrock, Turley etc, you have to jump on this fast before it's all gone! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)

Anonymous Wine Collective Contra Costa County Rosé of Mourvedre
2025 Anonymous Wine Collective Contra Costa County Rosé of Mourvedre

This marks our inaugural rosé under Anonymous—and it’s nothing short of phenomenal. Mediterranean in spirit and crafted from Mourvèdre, this dry rosé comes from ancient, own-rooted vines planted over 120 years ago in the deep, sandy soils of Contra Costa County. These venerable vines have endured for more than a century thanks to those remarkably sandy soils, which are inhospitable to phylloxera and allowed them to survive when so many others did not. Naturally low-yielding, the old vines produce fruit of striking concentration, purity, and freshness. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel, then aged for four months on fine lees in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak to build texture and nuance without sacrificing vibrancy. The result is a beautifully expressive rosé brimming with bright, juicy red fruit, hibiscus, alpine strawberry, and hints of spiced citrus peel, all underscored by a crystalline minerality. Dry and refreshingly precise, it balances crunchy fruit, tactile texture, and layered depth, finishing zesty and mouthwatering. I’ll be drinking this all spring and summer long—it’s simply delicious. 93 points James Suckling: "Lovely transparency to this, with subtle honeysuckle, lemon rind and honey in the nose. It's medium-bodied with a refined texture and beautiful length. Real white Burgundy for the money. Drink now." (05/2025) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Peach, almond, toasty oak and earth notes highlight this plush white. Backed by lively acidity that drives the spicy, bitter citrus finish. Shows fine balance and length. Drink now through 2028." (12/2025) 90 points Decanter: "There’s an appealing Granny Smith apple and nectarine fruit aroma with a hint of white blossom on the initial attack. The texture is surprisingly fresh for the vintage, and the finish is elegantly lovely – astonishing quality given the volume of production.(CC)" (05/2025) Jasper Morris: "In bottle. 200,000 bottles. One third made in tank, two-thirds in barrel. Pale colour with a faint lime streak. There is a minor reduction with the intention of maintaining freshness, and the nose does seem to be just a little leaner than before. Not as concentrated as 2022 for example, but still with persistence. A little citrus wash at the back. Drink from 2025-2028. " (01/2025) Burghound: "A riper but still attractively fresh and bright nose reflects mostly notes of various what orchard fruit and a more subtle citrus nuance. The generously proportioned, round and seductively textured flavors culminate in an agreeably clean, dry and balanced, if not particularly complex finale. This too should drink well young." Haut-Peyrat, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux
2022 Haut-Peyrat, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux

95 points Decanter: "Soft herbal accents join ripe bramble fruit and perfumed floral notes on the nose - aromatically appealing. Supple and alive, great energy from the start here with vibrant acidity giving this a lifted expression. Tannins are chalky and supportive, coating the mouth in flavour and texture and carrying the strawberry, red cherry and plum fruit to a long finish. Extremely well executed with focus and elegance as well as complexity and character. A touch of dried herbs and tobacco join the palate with mint and lovely terroir markers of iodine, slate, graphite, a bloody tang and mint. Sleek and streamlined this is a great wine with plenty of ageing potential. Can be opened now to enjoy the finesse in its youth but will no doubt improve over the next 5-15 years. 5% Malbec completes the blend. Indigenous yeasts for spontaneous fermentation, ageing for 12 months mostly in one use barrels. (GH)" (01/2025)

Vigneti Repetto "Quadro" Timorasso Derthona DOC
2023 Vigneti Repetto "Quadro" Timorasso Derthona DOC
91WE

The 2023 Vigneti Repetto "Quadro" Derthona is a brilliant, early-drinking vintage for this 100% Timorasso, sourced from calcareous-clay plots in Sarezzano. To maintain maximum varietal precision, it was fermented entirely in stainless steel and aged on its fine lees for 9 months with weekly batonnage. In the glass, it shows a pale straw color. The nose opens like a flower shop just before opening—subtle at first, but unfurling with crisp yellow apple, lemon blossom, and lime marmalade, underscored by an intense, smoky flint minerality. The palate is powerful and medium-to-full-bodied, balancing a supple, oily mid-palate with a driving, vertical acidity and a long, savory-salty finish. It drinks beautifully now but will develop deeper petrol and honeyed complexity over the next five years.

Billecart-Salmon Rosé Champagne
2015 Billecart-Salmon Rosé Champagne

The only straight vintage rosé from the masters of the style, save for the first, the 2010. This wine is composed of 52% Chardonnay from the grand crus of Mesnil, Avize, Cramant and Chouilly and 48% Pinot Noir from Ambonnay, Mareuil, Verzenay, Ay and Verzy. The red wine comes from ancient vines in the Vallofroy vineyard just next to the Clos des Goisses in Mareuil. It has been aged for an incredible 100 months on the lees and dosed low at just 4.7g/1. With great black cherry Pinot Fruit married to deep chalky drive, and a style that is never imposing and always delicate, this is a great statement on just how great rosé champagne can be! -Gary Westby, K&L Founded in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Billecart-Salmon remains one of Champagne’s notable family-run houses. Its reputation for rosé was built largely on the non-vintage Brut Rosé, which makes a declared-vintage rosé outside the Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon line an unusually specific look at the house style in a single harvest.

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains is rock-solid and certainly has plenty of classy Rhys character. Lots of black cherries, mulberries, dried spices, savory herbs, and forest floor notes all dominate the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, elegant texture, silky tannins, and a great finish. This is classic Santa Cruz Mountains, delivering complex, Burgundian aromatics, ample minerality, integrated structure, and a great finish." (09/2020) 93 points John Gilman: "Really, really deep and refined on the nose in 2018, offering up a complex blend of sweet dark berries, cassis, espresso, fresh thyme, a fine base of minerality, bonfire, bitter chocolate and a touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and sports outstanding mid-palate depth and transparency, with fine-grained tannins, superb balance and grip and a long, complex and utterly refined finish. " (05/2020) 92 points Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Rhys Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains is immediately wide open on the nose, with pretty aromas of black cherry, pomegranate, red licorice and wild herbs. The palate is svelte and solid, braced with quenching and delicious acidity. On the finish, a mild, understated tannin structure gains sturdiness with air while remaining seamless and inviting. (ML)" (04/2024) 92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains) is another fabulous appellation-level wine from Alesia, the sister label of Rhys. Red berry, spice, rose petal and dried herbs all grace this wonderfully expressive, vibrant Pinot Noir. Far from an easygoing entry-level wine, the Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot offers quite a bit of intensity in a mid-weight style that favors energy over heft. (AG)" (09/2020) Jancis Robinson: "Made from a selection of grapes from various estate vineyards. Smells of dusty road, cranberry and raspberries. Very pretty raspberry fruit flavours mix with a hint of cedar and forest floor as orange-peel notes and dried herbs creep into the finish. Lithe and well balanced. 17.5/20 points (AY)" (10/2020)
