Bid on this 1-half-bottle lot of 2006 Joh. Jos. Prüm Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube Beerenauslese LGK (375ml) ((95-97RP), 96ST, 95WS). Wine Advocate: The Prum 2006 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Beerenauslese is, as already noted, the first of its kind. Cherry jam and grapefruit marmalade, mango and peach preserves, as well as floral and herbal distillates are suggested by the intensely ester-rich aroma. White raisin mingles with the confectionary fruit elements on the palate, which on the one hand displays remarkable density and considerable sheer viscosity; but on the other hand is supremely elegant and buoyant, traits perfectly reflected in its wafting length. All the way through this collection, in fact, neither clarity nor delicacy has been significantly sacrificed as we climb from one degree of botrytization to another. (10/2008)

The story of Monkey 47 gin is romantic: in 1951, a British man named Montgomery Collins moved to Germany's Black Forest and opened a guesthouse named "Zum wilden Affen"--the wild monkey. While he was an enthusiastic gin drinker, Collins' talent for creating the spirit was lost to history until renovation work at the country guesthouse led to the discovery of a weighty old wooden box containing a bottle and a letter. The dusty bottle had been labeled and decorated by hand, showing a sketch of a monkey and the words "Max the Monkey--Schwarzwald Dry Gin." The accompanying letter contained not only personal notes and photographs but also a detailed description of the plant ingredients in Montgomery's recipe, from which the Monkey 47 Gin is reproduced. The relevant part of the story is this: Monkey 47 Gin is AMAZING. It's like an elixir sent from heaven. A good third of the ingredients for this special gin came from the Black Forest (including local juniper, also important for making Black Forest ham). In total, 47 handpicked botanicals, prepared in extremely soft spring water from a local Black Forest source, give Monkey 47 an unrivaled complexity and quality. The use of local cranberries adds a distinct fruity note to the floral and complex whirlwind of flavors. Esteemed wine critic Robert Parker called it the "the greatest gin I have ever tasted." We’re not sure if that makes it 100 points, but it might be as close as one can get.

93pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 65 25. The 2024er Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese was made from fruit harvested at 83° Oechsle in the prime Hahnenberg sector and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (60 g/l). It delivers a fresh and pure nose of candied lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, William pear, coconut, aniseed, and herbs. The wine is very delicate and finely juicy on the palate, where some ripe yellow fruits interplay with ripe, zesty acidity. It gradually gains presence and leaves a long, superbly punchy finish while remaining light weighted. This is a superb Spätlese."(10/2025)

92pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 64 25. The 2024er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese was made from fruit harvested at 83° Oechsle from over 70-year-old vines in the Klösterchen, Layenhaus, Pläkert sectors and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (56 g/l). It has a quite perfumed and attractively ripe nose of ripe pear, acacia, jasmine, rose, plum, candied pineapple, ginger, and greengage. The wine hits the palate with quite some racy acidity but develops more creaminess and juicier elements as it evolves. The finish is slightly rounder and has a good playful side. This impressive Spätlese needs some aging to fully deliver. 2034-2049."(10/2025)

The honeylike botrytis aromas are still undeveloped, but the intensity and brilliance of flavor are already stunning. Decades of aging potential." (03/1994)

94pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 62 25. The 2024er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese was made from fruit harvested at 87° Oechsle in the prime Enkel sector and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (58 g/l). It delivers a beautifully refined and finely complex nose of yellow peach, orange zest, grapefruit, jasmine, William pear, almond, acacia, and candied pineapple. The wine proves sweet and beautifully juicy on the palate, with fine creamy elements lifted up by a ripe, juicy acidity. Plenty of honeyed and yellow fruits come through and give the whole a certain richness. Yet the finish proves slightly lighter, yet it has great length. This is a splendid Spätlese. 2034-2054."(10/2025) 93-95pts Fallstaff Magazine: "Spicy, delicate aroma, peach blossom, ripe citrus fruit, tangerine zest, Mirabelle plum, crushed rock. Lively acidity on the palate provides plenty of drive, smooth sweetness, grippy and savoury, vibrant tension, elegant and fresh, at the very beginning of its development.-Ulrich Sautter"(11/2025)

92 points James Suckling: "Cool and herbal on the nose, this youthful, entry-level dry riesling has a wealth of citrus aromas and a chalky character on the compact, medium-bodied palate. Impressive length for this category, and the crisp, lemony acidity is beautifully integrated. The blend contains declassified wines from 15-year-old vines in the Auelerde and Brunnenhuschen GG sites. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink from release." (03/2025) 92 points Wine Advocate: "Predominantly sourced in Westhofen, the Wittmann 2024 Riesling trocken Estate is deep, pure, fresh and chalky/saline on the stimulating and characterful Wonnegau nose that reveals perfectly ripe and intense fruit. Aged in 3,000-liter oak vats and in stainless steel, this is a round, intense and crystalline, citric and finely tannic dry Riesling classic from a classic vintage. 11.5% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in Westhofen, August 2025. Wittmann's 2024 Morstein GG Riesling is the outstanding wine of the vintage at this organic domaine. At least, it was the best at the tasting at the end of August, while other favorites such as La Borne and Brunnenhäuschen still had to contend with the harshness of the limestone and were more promising than enjoyable. It is possible that the difference in quality between the crus and the basic wines is greater than the ratings here suggest. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized how excellent the relatively inexpensive Rieslings of the 2024 vintage are. It would not be the first time that the single vineyards have distanced themselves more clearly from the base wines over time, catching up with the Morstein, which is in splendid early form. But this requires patience, and in the meantime, one can enjoy the supposedly lesser wines of the house with pleasure. 2024 was not a charming, full-bodied vintage but a lean one, with a lot of raciness and tension, which, especially on the limestone soils of Westhofen, is likely to prove once again " (11/2025) 91 points John Gilman: "The 2024 Estate Riesling Trocken from Weingut Wittmann is just a touch reductive when first opened, but blossoms briskly to offer up a lovely bouquet of tart orange, sweet grapefruit, a fine foundation of limestone minerality, dried flowers, wild yeasts, a touch of fresh rosemary and a topnote of lemongrass. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and quite elegant in profile, with a good core, fine soil signature, zesty acids and lovely length on the complex and very well balanced finish. This is a lovely Estate Riesling Trocken. (Drink between 2025-2045)" (11/2025) Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling trocken was harvested by hand from both Westhofen and the surrounding villages on calcareous marl and limestone. More than half of this fermented in wood, with the rest in stainless steel. A lovely verve of lemon and grapefruit colors the pale peach on the nose. Juiciness, lightness, coolness and direction drive this forward, bringing on immense refreshment. This is beautifully dry and totally crisp. (Bone-dry)(AK)" (09/2025)

92 points James Suckling: "Brimming with mandarin orange and yellow peach aromas, this is a very attractive entry-level dry riesling. Barely medium-bodied, but so effusive and elegant. Very zesty finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap." (08/2025) 91 points Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling trocken is a mix of many more sites than the usual Oberhäuser Felsenberg and Kieselberg, but it is entirely from volcanic and slate soils. An immediate touch of peach on the nose sets the scene for fruit, ripeness, clarity and freshness. The palate is totally strait-laced, zesty and ripe, with a sunny aspect. This is svelte and immensely fresh. The 2024 is an absolutely clear-cut, lip-smacking Riesling. (Bone-dry)(AK)" (09/2025) 90 points Wine Advocate: "Just bottled with 11% stated alcohol, Dönnhoff's 2024 Riesling trocken VDP.Gutswein opens with a remarkably intense and aromatic yellow stone fruit aroma intermingled with complex and saline terroir notes of the middle Nahe. Fresh and savory on the palate, this is a light- to medium-bodied, straight, pure and fresh dry Riesling with remarkable intensity and sustainability on the finish and a saline and savory aftertaste. This is not as light and charming as the off-dry twin but more serious in its terroir expression. It needs some weeks or months to calm down a bit. Tasted in April 2024.(SR)" (05/2025)

92+pts Fallstaff Magazine: "A fine spiciness on the nose with slate and dried lemon peel too - still comparatively closed. Minerality dominates on the palate, with a highly elegant acidity spanning the entire structure, promising a wealth of nuance to come.-Ulrich sautter"(11/2025)

93 points James Suckling: "A very juicy wine with a wealth of stone fruit aromas and flavors. I love the fantastic freshness of this very elegant, sleek, light-bodied riesling that's just off-dry enough to pull you back for more. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold." (08/2025) 93 points Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl Kabinett, right from the palateau of the stony site of gravel and quartzite, is full of lemon and floral aromas. White summer blossom seduces, wrapping itself around stony notes. Has there ever been more lightness and subtlety? This is a dream, a veil of lemony brightness. The 2024 is charm itself. (Medium)(AK)" (09/2025)

92 points James Suckling: "A fantastic balance of very zesty acidity and juicy fruit. I love the interplay of citrusy freshness and apples on the light-bodied palate. Elegant finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold. Screw cap." (08/2025) 90 points Wine Advocate: "ust bottled with 10% stated alcohol, the off-dry 2024 Riesling VDP.Gutswein opens with an irresistible bright and aromatic as well as flinty/mineral nose with notes of crushed rocks and ripe yellow stone fruits (plums, apricots). Round, lush and lively on the palate due to the carbon dioxide fermentation byproduct, this is a pleasant, mood-lifting Nahe Riesling with remarkable lightness and finesse and super charming, textural fruit. This elegantly crafted, wonderfully pure and savory Riesling soars across the palate with loads of flower-laden minerals. It's a gorgeous aperitif and quaffable wine at any time of the day. Tasted in April 2025. If, as a winegrower, 90% of your potential harvest is robbed by frost early in the year, you have to rely on the solidarity of colleagues who have been hit less hard or not at all. This was the case a year ago when Cornelius Dönnhoff had to lament the loss of his best vineyards (Hermannshöhle, Felsenberg, Dellchen) at the annual Mainz Weinboerse of the VDP. Philipp Wittmann (Rheinhessen) and later also Nicola Libelli (Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf, Pfalz) spontaneously offered to provide their colleague with grapes next autumn. They would cultivate the vineyards—in the Kirchspiel and Steingrube "Grosse“ also "Erste Lage“ in Westhofen (Rheinhessen) and in the Gerümpel and Rechbächel premiers crus in Wachenheim (Pfalz)—according to their (biodynamic) system, and Dönnhoff would then take over from the harvest onward.(SR)" (05/2025) 90 points Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling is exactly the same as the Riesling trocken, just with stopped fermentation. A citrus-framed touch of peach shines on the nose and carries right onto the palate. This is lightness, verve, ease and joy all wrapped into stoniness. Wonderful. (Off-dry)(AK)" (09/2025)

95pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 02 25. The 2024er Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett is a fruity-styled wine with a beautiful nose of white peach, grapefruit, minerals, starfruit, and smoke. The wine is superbly airy and elegant on the palate and yet, despite being light-footed, it develops a great sense of inner structure. The finish is still a touch hard at this early stage, but the finesse and precision are already remarkable. This will benefit hugely from a few years of bottle aging to allow all the elements to integrate. 2034-2054"(07/2025)

93pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 43 24. The Schlossberg 2023 GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from 2 parcels with 40-45-year-old vines in a south-west facing in the lower part of the vineyard (next to the Bömer). It displays a beautifully complex and superbly fresh nose of violet, lavender, blueberry, bergamot, smoke, almond, plum, and spearmint. The wine is comparatively light-weighted and delicately creamy rather than bone-dry, and leaves a focused and juicy feel in the very long and playful finish. There is just a hint of mouth-watering tartness in the background, which adds layers of freshness to the whole. This is an impressive, complex smooth GG. 2027-2038."(01/2025)

90+pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 10 25. The Riesling 2024 Laurentiuslay Alte Reben Trocken, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made with fruit picked on century-old un-grafted vines still trained on single pole and high density in the steep and central part of the vineyard and was fermented and aged in old Fuder. This white-hay-colored wine offers a superb even if still rather reduced nose of mirabelle, cardamom, earthy spices, bergamot, pear, and smoke. It is nicely juicy on the palate, where it develops a pungent sense of spices and herbs. The finish is engaging, long, and promising, especially as the fruity side comes through. This is one for the cellar, but the wait will be worth it. 2028-2034 ."(01/2025)

94pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 15 25. The 2024er Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese was made from 10% botrytized fruit picked at 85° Oechsle and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (68 g/l). This offers a beautiful feel of pineapple, passion fruit, whipped cream, and fresh herbs on the nose. The wine is beautifully playful yet firmly zesty on the palate and leaves a stunningly vibrating feel of subtly exotic fruits, minerals, and herbs in the long finish. 2034-2054."(07/2025)

95pts Mosel Fine Wines: "The Hermannshöhle Riesling 2024 -GG-, as it is referred to on the consumer label, proves quite smoky and herbal at first, and only graduallydevelops a very attractive and complex nose of tangerine, yellow peach, pear, aniseed, minty herbs, smoke, and thyme. The wine provescomparatively light-weighted yet very delicate and pure. It leaves an energetic and beautifully focused and mouthwatering in the very long and welldelineated finish. This combines elegance, charm, and finesse in a remarkable way. 2030-2044."(08/2025)

The 2024er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit harvested at 78° Oechsle from over 60-year-old vines and was fermented and aged in stainless-steel tank down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (40 g/l). It offers a superbly aromatic and captivating nose with aromas of lemon, grapefruit, lots of spices, spearmint, greengage, thyme, and dill. The wine combines a direct palate with very pleasant fruitiness and a certain juiciness with a fresher, zesty side. The whole remains very light and fresh, with a finish that is more off dry than fully fruity. This Kabinett is very light and pleasant. 2029-2039."(10/2025)

94 points James Suckling: "Wonderfully expressive nose of honeysuckle and fresh garden herbs. Juicy, light-bodied palate with creaminess, slatey minerality and very elegant acidity. Long, zesty finish with plenty of mandarin orange character. Drink or hold." (09/2025) 94 points Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett opens with subtle hints of creamy woodruff, candied angelica and wet slate. The palate is lightness itself, like a veil of scented fruit referencing green apple, supple, sweet but tart citrus, like juicy, pale pomelo, rounded out with a touch of white peach. It is wonderfully serene, cooling, elegant and precise. (Off-dry)(AK)" (10/2025)

93pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 05 25. The Juffer 2024 Riesling Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a sweet wine with a great nose made of spices, peach, apricot blossom, whipped cream, and smoke. It is beautifully playful and delicate on the palate and leaves a nice feel of fresh orchard fruit, whipped cream, and apricot blossom wrapped into thyme in the long finish. This is a classic expression of Spätlese to enjoy fully in a decade. 2034-2049."(12/2025)

91pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 23 25. The 2024er Riesling Alte Reben is a just off-dry wine (with 10 g/l of residual sugar) made from very old vines planted between 1949 and 1962, mostly situated in the Leiwener Klostergarten and for a tiny part in the Detzemer Würzgarten, and was partially fermented in old Fuder. It offers a superb nose made of white peach, grapefruit zest, herbs, and fine spices. The wine is juicy and nicely precise on the palate and leaves a great feel of fresh herbs and citrus fruits in the long and currently still quite tart finish. This is a juicy expression of dry-tasting Riesling. 2026-2034."(09/2025)

Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 16 24. The 2023er Riesling Trocken comes from fruit picked mainly in the Zeltinger Himmelreich as well as other plots in Zeltingen. It displays a quite herbal and fresh nose of minty herbs, lime, lemon, spearmint, green apple, and aniseed. 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Violet, fur and spicy notes of plum and black cherry compote collide in this decadently perfumed Pinot Noir. While light in body, it's a penetrating, intensely fruity red held upright by zesty cranberry acidity and very fine, feathery tannins. (AI)" (04/2021)

95 points Vinous: "The 2024 Riesling Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese offers a salty wet slate aroma with a savor reminiscent of lichen and citrus peel. All about it is precise, stony, linear, crystalline and bright. You almost forget that this is a Spätlese, as its sweetness and acidity seem to be bound absolutely to the sunken salty slate that makes the mouth water endlessly. The 2024 has brilliance, poise, absolute structure and very fine bones. The finish is full of lemon zest. (Medium)(AK)" (10/2025) 94 points James Suckling: "Juicy and well structured with quite a firm core, this makes a bold statement. There’s a hint of bitterness interwoven with the pronounced acidity to give this a firm core. Serious minerality, but also plenty of grapefruit peel and pith flavors in the long, slightly austere finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2027." (09/2025) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Stunning and pure, with a fresh herb garden that jumps out of the glass, followed by juicy peach and crunchy apricot notes. Electric acidity brings buoyancy to carry the ripeness, with crystalline fruit purity and fine-boned minerality defining the elegant finish. Rich but not heavy. Drink now through 2040.—K.B." 95pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 11 25. The 2024er Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese was made from partially (20-30%) botrytized grapes harvested at 95° Oechsle and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (88 g/l). The wine offers a gorgeous nose made of prune, citrusy fruits, cassis, smoke, basilic, and spices. 93pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 13 25. The 2024er Elisenberger Riesling Kabinett, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from fruit picked at 78° Oechsle in the area around the sundial and in the upper part of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (45 g/l). The wine still has some residual scents from its spontaneous fermentation, which will eventually go away. This gives way to gorgeous scents of peach, citrus, chalk, white flowers, ginger, and smoke. The wine is beautifully precise and zesty on the palate and leaves a superb feel of fresh herbs and spices in the long finish. This is a great Kabinett which lives from lightness and intensity. 2034-2054."(07/2025)

93pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 19 25. A staff favorite, this über refreshing beer from Köln, Germany "is a beer hybrid," explains CraftBeer.com. "Its production and subsequent beer drinking experience saddles qualities of both lager beers and ale beers."

95 points James Suckling: "What a fascinating nose of bergamot, mirabelle and passion fruit plus dark herbal notes this stunning dry riesling has. Complex juiciness on the mid-palate, the elegant acidity and very fine tannins interlock beautifully and drive the almost perfectly balanced and stunningly refreshing mineral finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold." (08/2023) 94 points Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Westhofener Riesling 1G is from the Morstein satellites (that means everything around the core part). The wine opens deep, pure and complex, with the darker tones of the Morstein, yet it's still a bit untamed, or as Philipp Wittmann puts it, "There is still a bit of a workshop smell in this wine," which was just bottled when I tasted it in July. Silky, lush and elegant on the palate, this is a saline and citric, very pure and grippy yet remarkably finessed and light-footed B-Morstein. The texture is very elegant and almost silky, and the finish is grippy and wonderfully untamed. It's an impressive wine. 12.8% alcohol. Natural cork. Old vines in particular withstood the summer drought of the 2022 vintage, reports Philipp Wittmann, who removed all fruit from all plants under five years old. Vine age was also a decisive selection criterion during the harvest, as old roots reach so deep that they can reach the water reserves in the soil. This kept the vines vital, "and you could see that very clearly during the harvest," says Wittmann. In the old vineyards, the must weights were 10° Oechsle higher than in the poorer and younger vineyards. The maxim was to produce wines with finesse and elegance despite the heat and dryness, at least as much as possible. This naturally resulted in self-imposed losses in quantity, for example in Nierstein, where Wittmann was only able to harvest 28 hectoliters from 1.2 hectares of vines. "In extremely dry conditions, yields have to(SR)" (12/2023) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2022 Westhofener Riesling 1G Trocken from the Wittmann family is made from younger vine parcels in the two grand cru vineyards of Morstein and Brunnenhäuschen. It tips the scales at 12.5 percent alcohol in this vintage, and carries a low 2.3 grams per liter of residual sugar to balance its 7.4 grams of acidity. The beautiful foundation of limestone soils in these two great vineyards is immediately evident here, as the bouquet hops from the glass in a complex blend of tart orange, pink grapefruit, chalky minerality, wild yeasts, lemongrass and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a beautiful core of fruit, superb mineral drive and cut, a lovely girdle of acidity and a long, youthful and impeccably balanced finish. Whereas the 2022 Niersteiner 1G Trocken is drinking very well out of the blocks, the Westhofener 1G Trocken really will demand a bit of time in the cellar before it properly blossoms. (Drink between 2029-2075)" (07/2024)

The 2024er Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit picked at 78° Oechsle on 50-year-old vines and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (47 g/l). It offers a superb nose of white peach, citrus fruit, earthy elements, whipped cream, and smoke. The wine is superbly playful and elegant on the palate and leaves a fresh feel of white peach, chalk, and spices in the long finish. This is a gorgeous expression of Kabinett, but one that stands out for its tangy side. 2034-2054."(07/2025)

95pts Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 09 23. The 2022er Schmitt, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a sweet wine made from block-harvested grapes in the similarly named Lieu-Dit situated in a steep part of the vineyard (the reference to Zeltinger Schlossberg is only provided on the back label). It offers a superbly pure and delicately ample nose made of cream, pear puree, smoke, and fine spices. The wine is beautifully playful and subtly creamy on the palate and leaves an airy and gorgeously pure and persistent feel in the long finish. Despite the flavor intensity and grape ripeness, this wine remains superbly precise and alluring. 2032-2052."(09/2023)

Online and shipping orders only by the 6 pack; price is per stem. For generations, traditional crystal glasses were made with lead to fortify them. Schott Zwiesel replaced the lead with titanium and zirconium, creating a crystal glass that is incredibly durable and brilliant. The glasses are then reinforced at the rim and at both ends of the stem where breakage most frequently occurs. Scratch resistant, even in the dishwasher. This is larger than the Riedel Chianti glass at 8 7/8" tall and larger in diameter than the Chardonnay/Red wine glass, with a capacity almost 30% larger, at 17.3 ounces.

From the brewery: "A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, 'Original', a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine poured, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill."
