The 2022er Schmitt, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a sweet wine made from block-harvested grapes in the similarly named Lieu-Dit situated in a steep part of the vineyard (the reference to Zeltinger Schlossberg is only provided on the back label). It offers a superbly pure and delicately ample nose made of cream, pear puree, smoke, and fine spices. The wine is beautifully playful and subtly creamy on the palate and leaves an airy and gorgeously pure and persistent feel in the long finish.
