The 2024 Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett from Dr. Loosen is a lovely bottle in the making. Its technical details this year are 39.3 grams per liter of residual sugar and 7.7 grams per liter of acidity. The wine is again a touch reductive when first opened, so decant it before serving. With air, it offers up a beautiful bouquet of apple, wild strawberries, lilacs, bee pollen a complex base of volcanic minerality and a topnote of lime blossoms. On the palate the wine is bright, fullish and complex, with lovely filigree and soil transparency, sound acids and lovely focus and balance on the long and dancing finish. This shows its screwcap handicap a bit more than these other Kabinetten, so plan on plenty of decanting time before serving. Again, natural corks would be good here! (Drink between 2025-2055)

The 2024 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett is clear and super aromatic on the nose yet elegant and subtle, with fine, flinty minerality and saltiness as well as herbal notes. Round and elegant on the palate, it is almost a little harmless in terms of tension build-up but juicy and balanced, with emphasis, grip and precision. This has good length. It's almost too complex for a Kabinett but doubtlessly an excellent Riesling, regardless of its classification. 8% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in October 2025.(SR)

The 2024 Riesling Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett throws red apple peel and a touch of clementine in the ring. The palate is light, bouncing with juiciness, stoniness and tangerine pith. The body is lightness itself, with a lip-smacking finish. (Medium)(AK)
