The 2024 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett still carries quite some reduction but the palate already started the party. It is stony tautness and immense citrus juiciness entwined, wonderfully rippling, dynamic and energetic, yet without hurry. Gorgeous lightness makes this feel effortless, tender, exquisite. The 2024 is a quintessential Kabinett of exceptional ease and freshness. (Off-dry)(AK)
The wild strawberry flavors have you hooked from the first sip to the end of the very long finish. Fantastic energy and elegance on the light-bodied palate of this delicate beauty. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2023 Hofgut Falkenstein Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben "Gisela" #8. Stephan Reinhardt of Wine Advocate writes: ... It is more than 10 times smaller, but it certainly produces 25 wines per vintage—although, the master winemakers themselves don't know for sure. Why should they? Everything they produce is snatched up, including Pet-Nat, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir without malolactic fermentation. When I visited in August, there wasn't that much left to taste. Johannes carried just two cool boxes to the table outside in the garden, while his father, Erich, was still working in the vines and only joined after a while...The Webers approach their harvests rationally. Of course, they make selections, but they don't take it too seriously. After all, they don't strive for perfection, but for enjoyable wines."

An elegant and filigree riesling Kabinett with terrific slatey minerality. Easily enough ripeness, but the stunningly fresh acidity is the most important aspect of this incredibly vibrant Kabinett. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
A very juicy wine with a wealth of stone fruit aromas and flavors. I love the fantastic freshness of this very elegant, sleek, light-bodied riesling that's just off-dry enough to pull you back for more. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
The 2025 Riesling Oberhäuser Leistenberg Kabinett comes from a cool, shale-based site. Tenderest reduction meets lemon balm and the merest touch of passion fruit, a real tease on the nose. What a flirt, what a zesty, lively and utterly joyful brightness. It is the south-east exposure that lends it its cool, trembling aromatic nature. (Medium)(AK)
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett Mosel (Saar). 92 points Mosel Fine Wines: "While still being massively reduced, this gorgeous wine slowly develops a superb and classically Kabinett nose of pear, green apple, gooseberry, mint, herbs and a feeling of chalky minerals. The wine is deliciously crisp on the palate, with just an edgy touch of acidity in need of integration. However, the balance, playfulness and airiness of this wine are simply superb. 2022-2034." (#28 June, 2015)

Very juicy and spicy, this light-bodied, off-dry Mosel riesling has terrific peachy fruit and slatey freshness. Such a beautifully clean finish. From a high-altitude parcel with 100-year-old vines. Vegan. Drink or hold.
This is a prototypical, barely off-dry Mosel riesling that delights with its lightness and filigree. There’s lovely mid-palate juiciness thanks to the abundant yellow apple fruit. Crisp, dry finish that pulls you back for more of this delightful refreshment. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
The 2025 Riesling Niederhäuser Klamm Kabinett holds back on the nose. Stone, peach juiciness and lemon unite on the palate, but juicy peach takes the lead, taking care to walk its straight, stony line, tingling with citrus and making the mouth water. Wonderful. (Medium)(AK)
In spite of climate change, this is a very cool and delicate wine, yet it has a stunning brilliance and excellent depth. Long, filigreed finish with stacks of wet stone minerality. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
The 2023 Riesling Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett shows a flicker of reduction and a lovely savor of petrichor. The palate holds red apple peel and flesh with a beautiful saltiness that blends with a gentle touch of clementine sweetness. A picture of ease and lightness in true Merkelbach style.(AK)
Wonderfully expressive nose of honeysuckle and fresh garden herbs. Juicy, light-bodied palate with creaminess, slatey minerality and very elegant acidity. Long, zesty finish with plenty of mandarin orange character. Drink or hold.
The Loosen family has cultivated vines in the Mosel for more than 200 years. This 2007 Riesling comes from Ürziger Würzgarten, a steep vineyard above the Mosel distinguished by its red, iron-rich volcanic sandstone. Kabinett is one of Germany’s traditional Prädikat classifications, based on grape must weight at harvest.
Very classic, with great finesse and an herbal and spicy delicacy that’s hard to resist. Fermented and matured exclusively in large, neutral oak casks. It’s not dry and it’s not quite light-bodied (which is typical for the category), but what a beauty. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The lively interplay of restrained juiciness and bright apple acidity gives this crisp and light-bodied Mosel Kabinett plenty of appeal. Long, slatey finish with good energy and a well-integrated touch of natural grape sweetness. Drink or hold.
The 2024 Riesling Oestricher Lenchen Kabinett has a touch of woodruff on the nose before lemon kicks in. The palate is so beautifully light and bright. This has found its groove at around 45 g/L of residual sugar set against 8 g/L of acidity. (Medium)(AK)

The 2024 Riesling Dhroner Häs'chen Kabinett is shy on the nose but rocks the palate with its herb-scented lemonade-like nature that brings aromas of lemon zest and yarrow crushed on slate. The 2024 is lively, sprightly, bright and far too easy to drink. (Off-dry)(AK)
Insider's Advantage
Ripe black cherry, blackcurrant and lime aromas followed by juicy, luscious fruit on the palate. Quite sweet ("How else to keep down the alcohol?" asks Schug), but manages an appropriate lightness of touch and shows plenty of slate, salt and spice in a quite invigorating finish. One seems to taste here the advantages of Bernkastel's soils in retaining moisture. Potential 2 stars.(DS)

The Loosen family has cultivated vines in the Mosel for more than 200 years, with Ernst Loosen directing the estate since 1988. This 2025 Riesling comes from Wehlener Sonnenuhr, a steep, slate-rich vineyard overlooking the Mosel and named for the historic sundial set into its rocky slope. Kabinett identifies its traditional German Prädikat category.
Bid on this 11-bottle lot of 2016 Josef Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Kabinett. From a family-run Rheingau estate with records dating to the 17th century, this Kabinett comes from the Oestricher Lenchen vineyard near the Rhine. Josef Spreitzer is known for a traditional Riesling range that keeps residual sugar in balance with the region's naturally firm acidity.

From the Altenberg vineyard in Meddersheim, this 2023 Riesling carries the Kabinett designation within Germany’s Prädikatswein system. Kabinett is defined by the grapes’ must weight at harvest, placing the wine in the first tier of the Prädikat classification and linking its identity directly to ripeness achieved in the vineyard.
I love the orange blossom aroma of this medium-bodied and beautifully balanced Kabinett that’s barely off-dry. Stacks of citrus and white peach fruit, but without being in the slightest bit loud. Fine tannins and a lively acidity complete the unique picture. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Glass stopper.
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett. Drawn from the legendarily steep, south-facing Wehlener Sonnenuhr — weathered devon slate on a gradient of up to 70%, in a Mosel site ranked among the world's greatest vineyards — this bottle from Manfred Prüm, Gault-Millau's 1996 Winemaker of the Year, has had nearly three decades to develop. At this stage of maturity it shows the complex tertiary character the estate's Kabinetts are famous for, with layered lychee notes joining the classic stone fruit, fine minerality and remarkable depth and length that emerge with extended bottle age. A benchmark of German Riesling's flawless track record for longevity.
