2015 Schäfer-Fröhlich Bockenauer Felseneck Riesling Kabinett

The 2015 Felseneck Riesling Kabinett was picked at 86/87 Oechsle and opens with a very clear, precise and spicy/slatey Riesling bouquet. On the palate, the is a light, piquant, round and flinty wine that is similar to Rieslings from Graach (Mosel) with regard to its smokiness and piquancy. (SR)

Yeasty, fermentative, reductive overtones slightly shroud scents of fresh lime and apple. With aeration, attractive, honeysuckle-like floral notes also emerge. The mouth here is delightfully delicate and infectiously juicy, its flowery interlayering wafting into a finish that combines understatement with tenacious sheer persistence, and in which wet stone serves as a superb sounding board for luscious fruit and alluring perfume. If you can hold-off drinking this up (which might be difficult ;- ) it will improve. (DS)
