The grapes were picked in mid-September - about a month later than 2022 - and spent nine months in barrique (25% new French oak, lightly toasted to add texture). Another incredible deal from the depths of Scotland's vast blending apparatus. This is a completely different lot than the first Sideburns, but the exact same blend. Our friends at Cadenhead's would sell this style of blended malt as "Burnside," but rather than push our luck after Sideburns raised a few eyebrows, we’re offering this special parcel of 36 year old blended malt under the cheeky "Enviable" label. If you're sharp with wordplay or familiar with Burnside, the reference should be clear. While we cannot state the distillery outright, this whisky is composed primarily of the famous malt produced in Dufftown under the William Grant system. By strict legal definition it is simply another blended malt of considerable age, but in terms of quality it stands among the finest whisky being produced in Scotland today. The practice of teaspooning was developed within the blending trade to prevent competitors from capitalizing on a distillery’s name, adding a trace amount of another malt to obscure origin. With that in mind we’ll stay tactful, but even minimal research will point you in the right direction. There is no question that the whisky in this bottle represents extraordinary pedigree, and without that minute addition from a neighboring distillery its value would be many times what we’re asking. The quirks of the Scotch market can be remarkable, and moments like this are exactly where they benefit the drinker.

Bunnahabhain has always been Islay’s quiet outlier, a distillery founded in 1881 at the "mouth of the river" on the island’s far northeast shore, where a purpose-built village grew up around the stillhouse and, for decades, the only practical access was by sea. That remoteness helped preserve a house style that feels unmistakably coastal yet often avoids the heavy peat that defines many of its neighbors. In a single cask, that personality gets turned up to high resolution: the maritime lift, the oily weight paired with dense dark sherry, creating that unmistakable tension of salty malt and Jerez rancio. The distillery’s famously wide neck stills and large onion base create an undeniably unique spirits, which always seems to shine even through the most active sherry cask. This beautiful butt of Bunnahabhain was selected by the K&L Buying team in the Spring of 2025. It was filled into a a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt on May 28th of 2012 and bottled on August 18th of 2025 at a natural cask strength of 128.6 proof. We're extremely grateful to our dear friends at Signatory for finding these special gems and offering them to us at such reasonable prices. Ballard Canyon is an American Viticultural Area in Santa Barbara County, established in 2013 and located in the Santa Ynez Valley between Solvang and Los Olivos. The region's cool Pacific breezes provide diurnal temperature swings of up to 40 degrees, conditions that help shape its cool-climate Syrahs.

Winemaker Anthony Girard grew up in his family's Sancerre winery, but spent a number of years learning about wine production all over the world before returning home to continue working with Sauvignon Blanc. While helping with the namesake Girard label, Anthony wanted to create his own project on the side and eventually purchased a small plot of pristine real estate near the town of Récy, with primo Sancerre limestone soils. After acquiring the vines, he was given a large key as a symbolic gesture of new ownership, a "clef du récit," which became the name of the estate. While the heavy limestone content helps the fruit retain bright acidity, a portion of the vineyard is planted in flintier grounds, which adds minerality to the finish. Anthony's wines are renowned for their freshness and zip, crafted in true Sancerre fashion.

A VERY exciting addition to our Anonymous family, our first Zinfandel! And I couldn't be more excited about having a bottling sourced from the iconic and historic Pagani Ranch in Sonoma Valley! While we can't tell you who crafted this wine for us, the list of folks that can even get their hands on this revered, ancient vine fruit isn't very long, so you can probably take a pretty good guess. This stunning wine is 90% Zinfandel from the original 140-year-old block at Pagani Ranch planted in the 1880s. Then, completing the field blend are small amounts of 100-year-old Primitivo and Alicante Bouchet. The wine was aged for 20 months in a combination of French and American oak, 20% new, 80% seasoned. This wine is a perfect example of the ancient heritage vineyards found across California that are a truly unique and special part of our state's viticultural history. Mediterranean in spirit and crafted from Mourvèdre, this dry rosé comes from ancient, own-rooted vines planted over 120 years ago in the deep, sandy soils of Contra Costa County. These venerable vines have endured for more than a century thanks to those remarkably sandy soils, which are inhospitable to phylloxera and allowed them to survive when so many others did not. Naturally low-yielding, the old vines produce fruit of striking concentration, purity, and freshness. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel, then aged for four months on fine lees in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak to build texture and nuance without sacrificing vibrancy. The result is a beautifully expressive rosé brimming with bright, juicy red fruit, hibiscus, alpine strawberry, and hints of spiced citrus peel, all underscored by a crystalline minerality. Located in the beautiful medieval hilltop village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, Casa Juan is a small, family-owned winery that consistently produces aged Riojas that are honest, detailed and soulful expressions of the region. They are also some of most sensibly priced wines in the region, with the quality far outpacing their modest prices, which is why Casa Juan remains one of the most popular wineries we import directly, with a loyal and growing fanbase. The winery's origins trace back to the first half of the 20th century, when it occupied a historic underground cellar built beneath what had once been Laguardia's old flour mill. Its modern chapter, however, began in 1995 when Ángel Escudero and his wife, Araceli Sanchís, purchased and restored the historic winery while carefully preserving its traditional character. Today, Angel, along with his siblings (CArmen, SAntiago, JUlio and ANgel = Casa Juan) run the simple yet functional bodega, along with slightly under 30 hectares of vineyards they help to farm primarily themselves with no herbicides or pesticides. The wines typically contain mostly Tempranillo, with up to 15% Mazuelo. Most of the vineyards are mature, averaging around 45 years old, with some vines up to 100 years old. Primary fermentation occurs always with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, where the wines are eventually racked to barrels, which are used up to seven years and consist primarily of American oak.

Supple and alive, great energy from the start here with vibrant acidity giving this a lifted expression. Tannins are chalky and supportive, coating the mouth in flavour and texture and carrying the strawberry, red cherry and plum fruit to a long finish. Extremely well executed with focus and elegance as well as complexity and character. A touch of dried herbs and tobacco join the palate with mint and lovely terroir markers of iodine, slate, graphite, a bloody tang and mint. Can be opened now to enjoy the finesse in its youth but will no doubt improve over the next 5-15 years. 5% Malbec completes the blend. In 2023, it was the last fruit harvested in Sonoma for Ridge - picked between late October and early November. The oak regimen adds a great deal of nuance: just 3% new barrels, with the majority aged in varying degrees of older wood - 10% one-year-old, 20% two-year-old, 50% three-year-old, and 17% neutral. Expect lifted red and blue fruit, high-toned spices, and dried citrus peel. The palate is softly textured, with a touch of nuttiness and a light sweetness from ripe berries and dried apricots, but nothing overwhelming. The acidity is a real standout, suggesting excellent aging potential. Made by Olivier Bonville at Champagne Franck Bonville, this is flat out one of the greatest brut sans année offerings we have ever had at K&L. The Maison 76 is all chardonnay, purely from the grand cru of Avize in the center of the Côte des Blancs. Here the pure Belmnita chalk gives us wines that combine richness with freshness and minerality with attractive baguette toast. This wine is a full 60% reserves and dosed very low at just 5.8 grams per liter. It has been aged for three years on the lees. - Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer

Every so often, a vintage comes along that is destined for legend. For Barolo, 2016 is one of those years. This wine captures the regal spirit of this celebrated vintage, sourced from a producer known for blending tradition with modernity. By sourcing from top sites, including in the powerful village of Castiglione Falletto, this wine paints a complete picture of a modern classic with the structure to age for decades.

This rosé comes from a handful of parcels that total seven hectares of vineyards planted in clay and limestone soils, on a gentle north-northwest-facing slope. Grenache-dominated, with smaller percentages of Mourvedre and Cinsault. Like the Cassis Blanc, the wine is taut, fresh and slightly saline. The winery makes only a small quantity of this, making this extremely hard to find, but its deliciousness makes it highly sought after. Get yours before it's gone.

The 2018 Billecart-Salmon 250th Anniversary Cuvée was released to mark two milestones at once: the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States and the 200th anniversary of the House of Billecart-Salmon. The U.S. has long been one of Billecart’s most important export markets, so this bottling was created as a commemorative release for that relationship, and the fact that 2018 was an exceptional vintage made the project even more fitting. The wine is made from 100% Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit, with a blend of 65% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 35% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Just 3% of the cuvée was vinified in oak, with the balance aged in stainless steel, then the wine spent 63 months sur latte before being finished as an Extra Brut with 4.9 g/L dosage. In plain terms, this is a commemorative Champagne with serious credentials behind it: strong vintage, top-level vineyard sourcing, long lees aging, and a winemaking approach that keeps the focus on precision rather than excess.

Inspired by the wines of Alsace, Union Sacré is a partnership between central coast winemakers Xavier Arnaudin and Philip Muzzy, two friends who picked up the tricks of the trade by working at such Central Coast wineries as Sans Liege, Barrel 27, Herman Story and Desperada. In 2012 they struck out on their own to make wine to share with friends. According to the winemakers: "We are not auteurs, adventurers or advocates, we are simply two friends throwing all our weight into making wine worthy of our friends’ and families’ tables. Union Sacre is the bread we break together."

Founded in the 1980s by Dominique Crochet and now joined by his son Matthieu, Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet is a benchmark family estate rooted in the traditional villages around Bué and Sancerre. The 2024 Sancerre draws on classic Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils, where cool nights and a long growing season preserve tension and clarity, yielding a Sauvignon Blanc defined by lifted aromatics, chalky minerality, and a precise expression of this historic Loire terroir.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best Champagnes we carry at any price. This is made from the Launois "mother vines" the massal selected old vines planted from 1947-1953 on the best mid-slope sites of their grand cru vineyards in Mesnil, Oger and Cramant. This replaces their special club bottling, and is sourced from exactly the same vineyards that used to make that blend. This shows off how well Chardonnay did in 2017 with laser like focus and a display of chalk that is hard to find in any other bottling, but at the same time remains creamy and generous. What could be more civilized than treating your special someone (or yourself) to an aperitif of rosé Champagne? For good reason, the Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé defines the entire rosé Champagne category. Composed of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Meunier, it gets its color and rosé flavor from 8% red wine. The red wine is almost exclusively sourced from Billecart’s home village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, from massal-selected Pinot Noir plots of 60–80 years old. These plots are picked at still red wine ripeness—12% potential alcohol—and then de-stemmed and cold macerated before fermentation. It is this red wine that makes the Billecart Rosé so special, and unfortunately also limits the supply. The finished product is the most elegant, restrained, dry, and delicate wine that one could drink. The complexity is there if you search for it, but the pleasure is easy to find!

This K&L Exclusive Single Barrel is a brilliant collision of worlds, featuring Tatsuya Motonaga’s artisanal Japanese Fernet finished in a peated Laphroaig cask. Based in a 100-year-old house near Lake Sagami, Moto-san uses chicory and local botanicals to craft a bracingly bitter spirit that avoids Japan's gentian restrictions. The maritime, iodine-soaked smoke of the Islay cask integrates perfectly with the Fernet's medicinal mint and alpine herbs. The nose offers a trip through cold campfire smoke and menthol, while the palate is oily and savory with a distinct "shibui" elegance. Bottled at 36% ABV with hand-drawn label art by Moto-san himself, it is a hauntingly complex must-have for any amaro or peat enthusiast.

Winemaker Anthony Girard grew up in his family's Sancerre winery, but spent a number of years learning about wine production all over the world before returning home to continue working with Sauvignon Blanc. While helping with the namesake Girard label, Anthony wanted to create his own project on the side and eventually purchased a small plot of pristine real estate near the town of Récy, with primo Sancerre limestone soils. After acquiring the vines, he was given a large key as a symbolic gesture of new ownership, a "clef du récit," which became the name of the estate. While the heavy limestone content helps the fruit retain bright acidity, a portion of the vineyard is planted in flintier grounds, which adds minerality to the finish. Anthony's wines are renowned for their freshness and zip. Quincy is a satellite of Sancerre but sits about an hour west off the Cher river. The soils are sandier here and produce Sauvignon Blancs with more floral and stone fruit character.

This latest addition to our lineup fulfills the promise K&L has always strives to deliver: exceptional quality wines that reflect the authenticity of their place, producer, and varieties - all at a price that makes sense. This inaugural release comes from our longtime friends in the Southern Rhône, Dauvergne et Ranvier. While they farm excellent holdings throughout the region, this particular blend is sourced from the more prestigious Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation. A step above standard Côtes du Rhône, these higher-ranked sites produce fruit at lower yields, resulting in greater concentration and character. After a series of blending trials, we landed on a beautifully Syrah-dominant cuvée. Composed of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, it captures all the inviting hallmarks of a classic Rhône blend, delivering vibrant red fruit and layered spice with impressive depth and approachability.

Medium-bodied on the palate, it’s ripe and juicy with rounded red berried fruit, a supple texture, a pillowy mousse, and a warming finish. For rosé fanatics and fans of exceptional wines of all types, there may be no better pink tipple the world over than this Bandol rosé from the star of the appellation, Domaine Tempier. Hand harvested from organically farmed vines averaging 20 years of age, this year's blend is 55% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, and 20% Cinsault.

Founded in 1825 at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain in Fort William, Ben Nevis has long been revered by whisky insiders for its dense, oily texture and unmistakably old school character. Much of its production has historically gone into blends, but the spirit’s weight and complexity have made it a cult favorite among independent bottlers and serious malt drinkers. Not long ago it was difficult even to secure a single cask of Ben Nevis, but certain suppliers now appear to have improved access and, even better, we are seeing a wider diversity of cask types. If you remember, we offered the same spirit in first fill sherry butts last year. The same spirit in an old second fill sherry butt is truly perfect. If you appreciate the velvet hammer that is Ben Nevis, you will likely agree. This special distillate is among Scotland’s most characterful, a muscular Highland spirit capable of carrying immense flavor. Some prefer it naked in well-worn oak, others love it in deeply active sherry wood, but few will dispute the remarkable nuance that old, reused Oloroso casks can bring to this singular malt. That's not to say this isn't a full-bodied heavily sherried malt, because it is. This exceptional cask delivers the full potential this spirit can offer in great old wood like this. This whisky was distilled on January 27, 2014 and bottled in the summer of 2025 at a natural cask strength of 56.4% alc by vol, without chillfiltration or color additives whatsoever.

The Etz family has been in the wine business since 1898, and the estate is now in the 4th generation. With nearly 40 hectares of vineyard in production, the Etz estate prides itself on synthesizing the modern and the traditional. Their goal is to offer wines that show themselves from vineyard to bottle entirely in harmony with nature and the environment, from parcels planted around the famous wine-town Strass. Gaisberg, Galgenberg (that's the gallows-hill, folks), and Wechselberg are among the famous vineyard names to be found in the Etz collection. The Etz brothers place their emphasis on a peppery and spicy style of Grüner Veltliner - exclusively fermented in super-stainless steel tanks. Temperature controlled fermentations are conducted with indigenous as well as cultured yeast, depending on the demands of the individual lot. Time resting on the fine-lees adds complexity and polish to the wine.

When the price and availability of great whisk(e)y became increasingly prohibitive, we decided to take matters into our own hands. The first brand created by K&L’s Spirits Department was Faultline, a range that spanned the globe with Scotch, rum, and gin, though it was our Indiana bourbon that earned recognition well beyond our borders. Until now, however, we had never bottled a true Kentucky bourbon under our own label. Enter Every Drop. The historic K&L Every Drop brand, originally used in the 1910s to sell whiskey, had been dormant since the mid-1970s. Revived today as our line of exclusively Kentucky whiskies, it represents our continued pursuit of exceptional barrels bottled solely for our customers. This batch, distilled from a mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley at a storied distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, offers a fascinating contrast to the mature 16-year releases we’ve previously offered under the same name. Bottled at 107-proof as a nod to the traditional entry proof at this distillery, the whiskey was drawn from 10 hand-selected barrels of outstanding quality and carefully blended to create a singular expression available only at K&L.

The majority of this wine comes from Greengate Ranch in Edna Valley plus fruit from all of Talley's estate vineyards in Arroyo Grande Valley. Fermented with native yeast in small, open-top tanks, aged in 20% new French oak for 10 months. One of the best deals in Californian Pinot Noir. Certified Sustainable fruit.

The 172nd edition of Krug Grande Cuvée is a combination of 11 vintages, with 42% reserve wines. The youngest wine is from 2016 and the compisition is 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. As usual with Krug, it is barrel fermented and then given at least seven years of ageing on the lees before release. -Gary Westby, K&L

This is the same wine that is found in the normal Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, but wrapped in a completely sustainable, insulated cardboard wrap that looks like the inside of the chalk cellars of Ruinart.

We've been doing gin and single malt for years, and now rum, so why not throw our hat in the bourbon pool? One of the obstacles that kept us from making a Faultline bourbon earlier was availability: the current demand has made the extra barrel a thing of the past. One of the only distilleries that would sell us a cask for a private label was the old LDI distillery in Indiana, but with the already overcrowded LDI market (Bulleit Rye, Templeton Rye, High West, etc) we didn't think our product would be different enough, or of the quality we desired, for the Faultline name. . If we were going to work with MGP casks, then we needed the capability to blend something special to taste - the specs alone wouldn't sell this baby. We had to find some kick@$$ casks. We started with an incredible 10-year-old low rye formula that we used in conjunction with some 7-year high rye. We kept tasting and tasting until we found the sweet spot at 100 proof. The proprietary blend is one we keep close to the vest. It's FAR better than we ever thought it would be. The plan was to provide something fun and delicious for our customers, but the final whiskey is just phenomenal. It's rich, with sweet fruit right on the entry, a full-bodied mid-palate, and a long, rich, spicy finish. It tastes like it came from Four Roses or somewhere fancy in KY. We only produce it when we find a batch worthy of this special recipe because this bourbon is the old King of K&L. Taste it if you don't believe us.

This is a very good price on an elegant Grand Marque. This cuvée is rich, clean, and refreshing. The wine has a lot of pretty green apple fruit, a creamy texture, and elegant, tiny bubbles. Their incredible commitment of reserves from past vintages gives the wine depth and complexity while maintaining the racy, zesty, and pure flavors that are synonymous with this Champagne. You can never go wrong with Billecart-Salmon for the aperitif!
