Built on a base of authentic Vermouth de Chambéry, it captures the vivid aromatics and bright acidity of wild alpine strawberries sourced from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, prized for their intensely perfumed character and delicate balance of sweetness and freshness. From the producer: "Starting with a California white wine base, we fortify the wine using neutral grape spirits. Then we add grape concentrate and cane sugar for a rich mouth feel and a sweet finish. Predominant aromas of sweet citrus fruit with hints of ginger, exotic flowers and spices are supported by a framework of cinchona bark and bitter root extracts. Adds refreshing fruit flavors and crisp bitterness to a variety of cocktails. Pairs especially well with sparkling wine and aged spirits."

Made from California wine and quality ingredients, this is ideal for the brown spirits. Producer's tasting notes: "Layered with aromas and flavors of rhubarb, cocoa, vanilla, wild cherry bark, and exotic spices. The sweet finish is balanced with hints of oak and a pleasing bitterness from the gentian root and orange oil bitters." Blending notes: "Premium wine legs were blended together and fortified with neutral grape spirits to produce a base that has a balanced mouth feel and creamy texture. Cream sherry wine adds extra weight and complex nutty character. Free of caramel coloring for a light, natural appearance."

This aperitif wine has been in production since 1865. It was also an early sponsor of the Tour de France, and the bittersweet concoction stimulates the appetite. From the importer: "It is made by an infusion of gentian, cinchona (quinine), and renowned herbs of the Grand Chartreuse mountains in a mistelle base. Founded in Mexico City by Hillhamn Salome, Flor De Luna Distillery is one of Mexico's only female owned and operated distilleries. This complex liquor with a base of high-quality mezcal is named for the Zapotec word for women, "XILA" and contains seven distinct flavor ingredients that work to create the uniquely delicious profile: caramelized pineapple, lavender, ancho chile, hibiscus flower, clove, cinnamon, and black pepper. The mezcal is sourced from Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico. It's made in the artisanal method from agave espadin by mezcalero Edilberto Bautista.

The house of Emilio Miró is one of the few survivors of the golden age of Vermouth before the Spanish Civil war. Today they're the most prominent remaining producer of Vermut de Reus. The roots of Vermut de Reus extend to 1858, when Reus was the center of the Catalan wine trade. The tradition of La Hora del Vermut (Vermouth Hour) is once again a late afternoon fixture throughout Spain, especially in Catalunya, and the sweet red (rojo) variety is found in nearly every café and bar on ice, with olives and an orange slice or spritz'ed. Compare it to the other aperitivos you’ve been drinking and experience what you’ve been missing. A variety of herbs, roots, and other botanicals. Though the exact number of ingredients and formulation are proprietary, we will say that the bitterness comes primarily from gentian root; the citrus notes mostly from California-grown Seville orange; and the woodsy notes from balsam fir and Cascara sagrada, bark from the coffee berry bush, which grows in some of California’s moister areas. Some ingredients are hot-steeped, others are cold-infused. The resulting mixture is filtered and then colored in the traditional manner with cochineal. Doladira was created by Meredith Erickson in partnership Richard Betts and Jean-Marc Roulot. Using Italian alpine botanicals and rhubarb, they've created a modern red bitter that is 100% natural without any additives natural or otherwise. Meredith Erickson is the co-founder of Montreal’s legendary restaurant "Joe Beef" and author of Alpine Cooking, Inspired by the research from her book to creat an elixir of fresh rhubarb and elderflower tincture for friends and family, it becamse so popular she simply had to bottle and share it. The botanicals are sourced from Italy, but it's made in Jean-Marc Roulot's facility in Burgundy. Using 60% less sugar than other red aperitifs, it offers complex aromas of plum, elderflower, and rosemary. The gorgeous red hue is achieved through the addition of black carrot - no dye or bugs here. It can be enjoyed on the rocks with a little soda, in a classic aperitivo drink like a negroni, as a fun addition to any classic cocktail calling for a bitter agent.
