We've been doing gin and single malt for years, and now rum, so why not throw our hat in the bourbon pool? One of the obstacles that kept us from making a Faultline bourbon earlier was availability: the current demand has made the extra barrel a thing of the past. One of the only distilleries that would sell us a cask for a private label was the old LDI distillery in Indiana, but with the already overcrowded LDI market (Bulleit Rye, Templeton Rye, High West, etc) we didn't think our product would be different enough, or of the quality we desired, for the Faultline name. . If we were going to work with MGP casks, then we needed the capability to blend something special to taste - the specs alone wouldn't sell this baby. We had to find some kick@$$ casks. We started with an incredible 10-year-old low rye formula that we used in conjunction with some 7-year high rye. We kept tasting and tasting until we found the sweet spot at 100 proof. The proprietary blend is one we keep close to the vest. It's FAR better than we ever thought it would be. The plan was to provide something fun and delicious for our customers, but the final whiskey is just phenomenal. It's rich, with sweet fruit right on the entry, a full-bodied mid-palate, and a long, rich, spicy finish. It tastes like it came from Four Roses or somewhere fancy in KY. We only produce it when we find a batch worthy of this special recipe because this bourbon is the old King of K&L. Taste it if you don't believe us.

The birth of New Era bourbon was a happy accident that brought together bourbon geeks Zane Brammell and Matt Hobbs. Before meeting, each of them ran significant single barrel clubs, picking casks for their friends and followers. Finally, they joined forces to bring that talent to the broader market. Over the years, they have built great relationships with distillers and brokers, allowing them access to extremely high-quality stocks and unique barrels. This, the first K&L Exclusive New Era pick, features a a high-rye mashbill of 64 percent corn, 24 percent rye, and 12 percent malted barley. The label's artwork features a 1960s piece by Dorelle Heisel, the grandmother of K&L Spirits Buyer Stephanie Manning. Known as "Cincinnati's Brain Lady" and "Abby" to her grandchildren, Dorelle was a pioneer of early biofeedback technology, introducing many to psychedelic subculture. Her work transports viewers to an alternate state. We feel that experiencing a truly excellent whiskey is equally transcendent.

Founded in 1825 at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain in Fort William, Ben Nevis has long been revered by whisky insiders for its dense, oily texture and unmistakably old school character. Much of its production has historically gone into blends, but the spirit’s weight and complexity have made it a cult favorite among independent bottlers and serious malt drinkers. Not long ago it was difficult even to secure a single cask of Ben Nevis, but certain suppliers now appear to have improved access and, even better, we are seeing a wider diversity of cask types. If you remember, we offered the same spirit in first fill sherry butts last year. The same spirit in an old second fill sherry butt is truly perfect. If you appreciate the velvet hammer that is Ben Nevis, you will likely agree. This special distillate is among Scotland’s most characterful, a muscular Highland spirit capable of carrying immense flavor. Some prefer it naked in well-worn oak, others love it in deeply active sherry wood, but few will dispute the remarkable nuance that old, reused Oloroso casks can bring to this singular malt. That's not to say this isn't a full-bodied heavily sherried malt, because it is. This exceptional cask delivers the full potential this spirit can offer in great old wood like this. This whisky was distilled on January 27, 2014 and bottled in the summer of 2025 at a natural cask strength of 56.4% alc by vol, without chillfiltration or color additives whatsoever.

Benrinnes is a historical and unique distillery in the Speyside region. Founded in 1826 and completely destroyed by a flood in 1829, it was rebuilt in 1835 a few kilometers from the original site. Once again devastated by fire in 1896, it was fully reconstructed in 1956. Benrinnes gained international recognition for the finesse of its whiskies, produced through its distinctive 2.5-style distillation and traditional worm tub condensers. Much to the horror of Benrinnes lovers everywhere, the brand switched to standard double distillation in 2007. Now nearly two decades later, it's clear that the wonderful hidden distillery at the foot of Speyside's tallest mountain has not lost its luster. Our friends at Douglas Laing have deep stocks from this delightful distillery and selected this exceptional cask for us for the 2025 whisky season. Its beautiful sherry character is distinctive yet harmonizes perfectly with the rich, robust malt produced by the charming Benrinnes spirit stills and their iconic worm tubs. You'll have a hard time finding better value for money in a cask strength single sherry butt anywhere in the world.

Another incredible deal from the depths of Scotland's vast blending apparatus. This is a completely different lot than the first Sideburns, but the exact same blend. Our friends at Cadenhead's would sell this style of blended malt as "Burnside," but rather than push our luck after Sideburns raised a few eyebrows, we’re offering this special parcel of 36 year old blended malt under the cheeky "Enviable" label. If you're sharp with wordplay or familiar with Burnside, the reference should be clear. While we cannot state the distillery outright, this whisky is composed primarily of the famous malt produced in Dufftown under the William Grant system. By strict legal definition it is simply another blended malt of considerable age, but in terms of quality it stands among the finest whisky being produced in Scotland today. The practice of teaspooning was developed within the blending trade to prevent competitors from capitalizing on a distillery’s name, adding a trace amount of another malt to obscure origin. With that in mind we’ll stay tactful, but even minimal research will point you in the right direction. There is no question that the whisky in this bottle represents extraordinary pedigree, and without that minute addition from a neighboring distillery its value would be many times what we’re asking. The quirks of the Scotch market can be remarkable, and moments like this are exactly where they benefit the drinker.

Revived today as our line of exclusively Kentucky whiskies, it represents our continued pursuit of exceptional barrels bottled solely for our customers. This batch, distilled from a mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley at a storied distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, offers a fascinating contrast to the mature 16-year releases we’ve previously offered under the same name. Bottled at 107-proof as a nod to the traditional entry proof at this distillery, the whiskey was drawn from 10 hand-selected barrels of outstanding quality and carefully blended to create a singular expression available only at K&L.

The new partnership between Binder's Stash and Willett Estate is proving to be one of the most exciting collaborations in the world of craft spirits. Bill is taking his pick from hundreds of unique and unusual batches from Willett's many years of experimentation. This incredible and unusual single cask from Willett was hand-selected by K&L's Spirits buying team in July 2025. It was distilled on June 29, 2016, from a mashbill of 65% corn, 20% wheat, and 15% malted barley, then filled into a "wave stave" French Oak barrel. This unique barrel type is made with a precise cutting process that etches the interior of the cask, significantly increasing the surface area where the spirit is in contact with the charred oak. The unique expression of wheated Willett in this specialized barrel will likely never be recreated. At 9 years of age with the additional French oak influence of the wave staves, this is one of the most robust and complex wheated bourbons we've ever had the pleasure of selling. Nonchillfiltered and without additions of any kind, it is bottled at a cask strength of 126.8 proof.

Compass Box & K&L have always had a special relationship. Since the inception of this special brand 25 years ago, we've seen eye to eye on every aspect of this business. It wasn't until 2011 that we were able to connect with legendary whisky maker John Glasser about the potential to do an exclusive for K&L. We had access to anything back then, but one trophy alluded K&L and exclusive Compass Box. That was until 2015 when John Glaser invited our spirits buying team to select an exclusive blend from their stocks, a now legendary blend of old peated malt and a sherry aged malt - 5th and Harrison was born. Now 10 years later, we were honored and surprised when James Saxon, Compass Box Master Blender, agreed to build a special batch just for us once again. We had a recipe that we loved, old peat and heavy sherry, but could they pull it off? Of course they did! The whisky is one of the most complex, old school and delicious malts K&L has ever sold and the price is out of this world. A blend of 24 year old Caol Ila, 23 year old Bowmore and 21 year old Glendullan in fresh sherry! Incredibly, we're able to offer it at the same exact price we did a decade ago. It's unbelievable but true. This time, we're offering two concurrent labels - one celebrating the "5th & Harrison" store, our SF homebase and the other designed to commemorate the opening of our second SoCal location at the corner of Culver & Sepulveda. The labels connect and all collectors must have them both or many of each.

This special old barrel was bottled by our friends at Dornoch Distillery under the festive Dornoch Castle Hotel Anniversary label. This series of exceptionally curated casks was selected to commemorate 25 years of independent family ownership of the special property in the gorgeous little eponymously named town. The hotel is the site of both the original Dornoch Distillery and the fabulous whisky bar that Phil and Simon worked so hard to curate in the early years. It remains one of the world’s great whisky bars, tucked into a little corner of the hotel’s modest restaurant. It is simply unconscionable that the fabulous Glen Garioch distillery remains underappreciated by the wider whisky loving world. Founded in 1797 in the town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Glen Garioch is one of Scotland’s oldest operating distilleries. Long known for its robust Highland character, the distillery always maintained a muscular, cereal driven style that stands apart from many of its softer contemporaries. Today it remains a traditional plant with direct fired heritage and a reputation among insiders for producing spirit of remarkable texture and depth. That relative lack of mainstream recognition has translated into extraordinary opportunities at the higher end of the spectrum. It is remarkable that Thompson Bros has been able to secure such a high quality old Highlander at such a reasonable price. The obvious sleeper this year, but those who take the plunge will be greatly rewarded.

There was a period not long ago when independent bottlers across Scotland were sounding the alarm about the availability of Laphroaig. There was widespread consensus that named Laphroaig would no longer be traded on the open market as it once had been, and for a time many teaspooned or unnamed Islay malts took the place of clearly identified stock. The result was significantly higher prices for casks bearing the Laphroaig name due to their perceived scarcity, and the few we encountered were often too expensive for us to seriously consider. Fast forward three years and the market remains largely devoid of named Laphroaig, save for a few scattered casks, usually with the requisite markup. So when our friends at Dornoch indicated they had access to well priced, decade old Laphroaig, we knew we had to act quickly. Founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston on Islay’s rugged south coast, Laphroaig has long been one of Scotland’s most distinctive distilleries, famed for its medicinal peat smoke, iodine richness, and unmistakable maritime intensity. This lovely barrel is bottled under the Dornoch Hotel Commemorative 25th Anniversary label and was distilled on November 24, 2014. Solidly in the winter style, the wetter peat of winter production creates a longer, slower drying process and imbues the spirit with a deep, dark smoke that reminds us why Laphroaig is known as the world’s most richly flavored malt. Bottled exclusively for K&L at a natural cask strength of 54.9% abv.

The wonderful Bruichladdich distillery has always been near and dear to our hearts at K&L. We've been there from the beginning and still support the exceptional distillery located on the far side of Lochindaal. Their current ownership has been putting out excellent whisky just like the previous ownership, but what we never see from them are single barrels. When we do see older single barrels from Bruichladdich, it's been mostly from the Dramfool line, which helped Master Distiller Jim McEwan sell his personal stocks under their Jim McEwan Signature line. But almost all of those were heavily marked by the barrel, strong first-fill wine and sherry finishes which were gorgeous, but also extremely expensive and occasionally lacking the nuance of some of the older stocks of yore. Now our friends at Old Particular have given us a chance to sell fully mature stock in refill hogshead, and it truly feels like a treasure has been uncovered. The gorgeous distillate from their post-reopening period is on full display here. You will not be able to find a similar whisky on the market through any US channel, and for those who love the authenticity and complexity of perfectly unusual Islay, you'll be rewarded in spades.

The exceptional distillery at the base of Scotland's tallest peak is quickly becoming rarer than hen's teeth. Owned by Nikka, the famous Japanese distiller, they've publicly announced that they would not be selling casks to blenders and bottlers going forward. The brand is not well known in the states as they've neglected to sell the malts here for some time, but the whiskies are used in a number of the excellent Nikka blends and that's likely where the stocks are going. Despite the announcement, we've managed to snag a string of young exceptionally high quality Nevis casks from our friends and partners in Pitlochry. This is the first modern Ben Nevis we've had from the wonderful Douglas Laing company and it's a really special treat. The powerful malty spirit unobstructed by wine or overly wooded is a welcome compliment to previous heavily sherried offerings from bottlers like Signatory.

Few spirits in Scotland are so coveted by the initiated yet so little known to the broader whisky world as the deeply peated malt from the old north shore distillery known in the trade as Staoisha. This is the heavily peated spirit produced at Bunnahabhain, a distillery better known for its typically unpeated Islay style, yet capable of producing some of the island’s most forceful smoky whisky when the stills are turned to peat. The wide, tall stills seem to gather dense smoke around Bunnahabhain’s naturally briny character, creating a spirit that is both intensely maritime and deeply peated. The distillery refers to this style internally as “Moine,” but bulk customers are not permitted to use that name, so independent bottlers reference nearby Loch Staoisha instead. In this case the distillery name appears on the label as well, leaving little mystery about the whisky’s origin. Founded in 1881 on Islay’s remote north coast, Bunnahabhain has long stood apart from its southern neighbors, producing a weighty coastal spirit that often emphasizes malt richness over peat smoke. The raw, powerful distillate here has not been overworked by oak, but after nearly twelve years in barrel it has blossomed into an absurdly complex and forceful expression unlike anything we have previously bottled. The oldest Staoisha we have yet offered, bottled at a natural cask strength of 63.1% alc by vol.

Clynelish, perched on the northeast coast of the Highlands near Brora, is revered for its singular waxy texture and coastal austerity. Rebuilt in 1967 adjacent to the original 1819 site founded by the Duke of Sutherland, and much of its production has long been destined for blending, particularly within the Johnnie Walker portfolio. Clynelish offers a combination of honeyed fruit, mineral tension, and that unmistakable oily character that has made it a cult favorite among malt lovers. This unique and unusual 12 year old Clynelish represents one of the most impressive young examples we have encountered. Filled into recharred French oak in June 2013, it was bottled without chill filtration at 48.3% alc by vol. Dense, oily Clynelish fruit meets assertive French oak spice in a combination we did not know we needed, but so glad we found.

Bunnahabhain has always been Islay’s quiet outlier, a distillery founded in 1881 at the "mouth of the river" on the island’s far northeast shore, where a purpose-built village grew up around the stillhouse and, for decades, the only practical access was by sea. That remoteness helped preserve a house style that feels unmistakably coastal yet often avoids the heavy peat that defines many of its neighbors. In a single cask, that personality gets turned up to high resolution: the maritime lift, the oily weight paired with dense dark sherry, creating that unmistakable tension of salty malt and Jerez rancio. The distillery’s famously wide neck stills and large onion base create an undeniably unique spirits, which always seems to shine even through the most active sherry cask. This beautiful butt of Bunnahabhain was selected by the K&L Buying team in the Spring of 2025. It was filled into a a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt on May 28th of 2012 and bottled on August 18th of 2025 at a natural cask strength of 128.6 proof. We're extremely grateful to our dear friends at Signatory for finding these special gems and offering them to us at such reasonable prices. Very few other bottlers have so consistently offered such a high quality single malt than the good people at Signatory.

The fact that we can enjoy brandy more than four decades old at such an astonishingly fair price feels almost unreal, yet no number can capture the depth or beauty of this extraordinary spirit. The traditional Domaine in Mauleon-d’Armagnac, set in the heart of Gascony’s finest terroir, has been quietly producing remarkable brandy for generations without ever reaching beyond the local market. Proprietor Jean-Marc Durroux is no radical but a devoted steward of the land, guided by the same principles that shaped his family’s work before him. He believes that great Armagnac begins in the vineyard, and his commitment to biodiversity ensures that every inch of the estate thrives in natural balance. Cover crops, hedgerows, forest margins, and carefully tended fallow plots all support a living ecosystem that gives his grapes their singular character. In the cellar, that same care yields brandies of exceptional purity, depth, and authenticity. This stunning 42-year-old barrel, selected from the heart of his collection, represents the very best of that vision. Distilled by hand from 100% baco and aged in locally Gascogne oak, it was bottled exclusively for K&L Wine Merchants at full cask strength without reduction or chill-filtration. It stands as a testament to patience, provenance, and perfection in every sense.

This K&L Exclusive Single Barrel is a brilliant collision of worlds, featuring Tatsuya Motonaga’s artisanal Japanese Fernet finished in a peated Laphroaig cask. Based in a 100-year-old house near Lake Sagami, Moto-san uses chicory and local botanicals to craft a bracingly bitter spirit that avoids Japan's gentian restrictions. The maritime, iodine-soaked smoke of the Islay cask integrates perfectly with the Fernet's medicinal mint and alpine herbs. The nose offers a trip through cold campfire smoke and menthol, while the palate is oily and savory with a distinct "shibui" elegance. Bottled at 36% ABV with hand-drawn label art by Moto-san himself, it is a hauntingly complex must-have for any amaro or peat enthusiast.

Blanton's Takara line is bottled exclusively for the Japanese market, the home country of the brand owners' Ancient Age International. This unique expression of Blanton's is aged for a minimum of two extra years over the standard Blanton's, in the famous Warehouse H at the old Buffalo Trace plant outside of Frankfurt, KY. This high-quality facility is one of Kentucky's most historical, but the Blanton's is distinctive in their portfolio. Not only is it made using the elusive "high rye" mashbill, but it is aged exclusively in Buffalo Trace's only corrugated metal warehouse. All others on the property are made of brick, giving Blanton's a unique character that only a handful of Buffalo Trace products share. The Blanton's stocks are heat cycled through steam injection directly into the warehouses, which remain warm and humid throughout the cold winter months. Takara Red is bottled at 93 proof with a minimum age of eight years. It's re-imported from wholesalers in Japan, and remains one of the rarest bottles of Bourbon on the market today.

The Suntory whiskies are handcrafted at Japan's oldest distillery, built in 1923 by the founder of Suntory, Shinjiro Toriiin. This 12-year was awarded a Gold Medal by the Beverage Tasting Institute in 2006. Medium-bodied, with scents of dried fruits and honey. Elegant, subtle and mellow on the finish, with woody spice.

From Buffalo Trace Distillery, Blanton's holds the distinction of being the world's first regularly released single-barrel bourbon. This exceptional brand was launched in 1984 and named for the legendary leaders of that historic distillery outside of Frankfurt, Albert B. Blanton. The brand, which is produced and distributed by Sazerac at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, is owned by the previous owners of the distillery, a Japanese company called Age International. Over the last several years, Blanton's has become one of the most sought-after and inaccessible whiskies on the market. This, their rarest and most elusive expression, is previously completely unobtainable. Now, sources from across the world are re-importing these special bottles and doing so at increasingly reasonable rates. This, the coveted cask strength 750ml expression, is always an amazing drink and intense pour.

A well-regacincarnation of Suntory's hugely popular Hibiki series, this time without an age statement attached. The same soft, mellow, vanilla-laden flavor is still here, however. It's a true harmony of pure Hibiki flavor. *96 points, Ultimate Spirits Challenge Top 100 of 2020*

This singular cask from Mars Komagatake offers a direct link to the origins of Japanese whisky and one of the category’s most important pioneering producers. Crafted by Hombo Shuzo, a family owned company founded in 1872, Mars traces its whisky lineage to the earliest era of malt distillation in Japan, long before Japanese whisky achieved global acclaim. Hombo was among the first producers to seriously pursue domestic malt whisky, helping establish the foundation of what would become a national tradition. The Komagatake distillery was founded in 1985 high in the Japanese Alps of Nagano, chosen for its pristine mountain water, cool climate, and dramatic seasonal temperature swings. These conditions proved ideal for maturation, allowing whiskies to develop remarkable depth and structure even at younger ages. Like much of the industry, Komagatake experienced periods of dormancy during market downturns, but its revival in 2011 marked a pivotal moment in the modern resurgence of Japanese whisky. Today, Komagatake is widely regarded as the spiritual and technical heart of Mars, producing some of the most authentic and characterful single malts in the country. This single cask, bottled exclusively for K&L at natural cask strength and limited to just 160 bottles, is not only exceptionally rare but historically significant. As the very first Komagatake barrel selection in K&L’s history, it stands among the finest examples of Japanese whisky available anywhere in the world.

The Signatory Vintage is a name that represents integrity, patience, and an unwavering commitment to quality. The label has been a cornerstone of K&L’s Scotch selection for more than thirty years. Over the decades, Signatory has bottled hundreds of remarkable single casks, many selected exclusively for K&L customers, and every one has been chosen for its singular excellence. This Caol Ila captures the essence of that tradition. It is a classically styled Islay malt, full of energy and nuance, a whisky that reminds us why this distillery remains one of the greatest yet most unheralded on the island. Distilled on September 18th, 2014, and bottled just shy of its eleventh birthday on August 18th, 2025, it represents Caol Ila at its most expressive. It was drawn from a single cask and bottled exclusively for K&L Wine Merchants without coloring or chill-filtration, preserving its natural purity. At natural cask strength, 59.2% alcohol by volume (118.4 proof), it possesses both power and precision. A touch of water brings the whisky fully to life, softening the edges and revealing the elegant complexity that defines the best of Islay.

Don Julio is particularly proud of this limited-edition Añejo, and rightfully so: "I established my first tequila distillery in 1942 and to commemorate that very special year, I have created Don Julio 1942 as a unique and limited edition and I personally selected the stock for this new release. The Macallan's benchmark excellence is nowhere more evident than in the 18 year old, which is matured for a minimum of 18 years in seasoned sherry casks. Classic Macallan, with aromas and flavors of dried apricots and figs, spice, chocolate and orange zest. Made exclusively in hand-picked sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain. As always, the Macallan is bottled with its natural color. This is the new package but the same old Mac 18!

Another cracking barrel of Old Forester Cask Strength has arrived. For those who love the bold, spicy style these impressive barrels deliver, this special selection offers something truly distinctive. Unlike many bourbon producers where we chase high floors for their intense environmental swings, the Old Forester warehouses outside Louisville are built from thick brick and concrete. Each floor is fully enclosed, allowing heat to build within the structure during the summer while winter air keeps the masonry walls cold for months. To keep the whiskey moving through the wood, Old Forester pumps steam heat into the warehouses at the first sign of cold and maintains the heat cycling until spring arrives. The result is a barrel that, even in a relatively short period of time, experiences temperature fluctuations four to five times greater than a typical warehouse. This particular barrel was filled on July 6th, 2021 and matured on the first floor of the venerable Warehouse K, built in 1953 and home to some of the finest stocks in Old Forester’s inventory. Barrels from this building often show a beautiful balance between dense fruit and the distillery’s signature spicy rye character. Bottled exclusively for K&L Wine Merchants in early 2026 at a full cask strength of 129.7 proof, this barrel was offered without chill filtration or additives of any kind. A brilliant example of just how compelling Old Forester can be when the right barrel is chosen from their remarkable warehouses.

This rare opportunity is the result not of some lack in demand for the legendary estate in the Scottish Highlands, but the unusual advantages periodic importer changes afford a retailer like K&L. All across the world, a single barrel of Macallan aged 30 years commands an incredible premium over almost any other malt on the market. Thanks to our good relations and kind demeanor we've been given access to the last few bottles in this special cask at an altogether unheard of price. Even many years ago, it would be unusual to see a similar cask at a lower asking price. Barrel DL15809 was bottled in 2022 at full cask strength without any chillfiltration, dilution or coloring whatsoever.

Torabhaig, the second licensed distillery on the Isle of Skye after Talisker, began producing single malt in 2017 from a restored 18th century farmstead at Teangue. K&L was an early supporter of the new distillery, as even the youngest malts showed exceptional quality and character from the outset. This remarkable barrel, among the very first single casks of Torabhaig ever released and the first to arrive in California, is all about purity of expression. There is no wine influence or heavy oak to distract from the striking character of this beautiful young distillery. Few things frame a salty, ocean driven malt more effectively than a single refill American oak barrel, and this cask shows exactly why. Distilled on October 2, 2019 and bottled at full cask strength without chill filtration, coloring, or other additions on September 15, 2025, just weeks before its sixth birthday, the youth is deceptive. The whisky delivers layer upon layer of complex maritime character, with depth and precision well beyond its years. Drawn from a single cask yielding just 208 bottles, it was bottled straight from the barrel at 59.5% alcohol by volume.

This distinctive and powerful aromatized wine should be considered a standard component in any respectable bar. It can be served chilled as an aperitivo, a digestivo, or a welcome addition to your favorite cocktail.

The unreal run that Found North has racked up over the last several years is truly unprecendented. The two brothers running the show get whisky and the whisky business like few other founders in the industry today. They know just that every bottle of whisky you produce must absolutely astonish the customer who eventually opens it. They've created a new style of product, with a nod to several great innovators before them, that transcends traditional whisky categories. Using extremely high quality matured stock from Canada, exceptional wood and a deft palate, they've developed a system to create world class old whiskies that can stand with the best of them. We've always said YES, to any offer from Found North, so when they dangled two single casks for us this year, we snapped up the two best. These monster whiskies are distilled in Canada aged seperately before being blended and further maturation in high quality barrels. The resulting mashbill for each barrel is 50% 12yr Rye (w/ Malted Barley, 3% 21yr Rye, 13% 15yr Corn, 3% 17yr Corn (New Wood), 27% 22yr Corn, 4% 25yr Corn. These single barrels could not techinically be classified as eithe bourbon or rye, if they'd been distilled here, yet this delicious barrel #6118 delivers the best of both -a bomb of spice, sweet red fruit, dusty earth and sweet oak. The wonderful Hearach malt has become a dear favorite of the store. The beautiful little distillery on the Isle of Harris is producing some of the most distinctive and delicious malts and complex new spirits in Scotland. We now are on our second barrel and excited to share another beautiful single cask with our customers. This beautiful little barrel was aged on the salty shores of Harris in a fresh ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel. Bottled without chillfiltration at natural strength, this rare Harris expression captures both the elemental character of the Outer Hebrides and the emerging signature of this special distillery. The nose opens with caramel, toffee apple, tinned fruit cocktail, and baked frangipane tart before deepening into cherry richness with mixed florals, warm spice, and festive clove. The palate expands with liquorice toffee, vanilla custard, and baking spice, carried by a saline thread that evokes sea air and coastal mineral tension. With a touch of water the texture becomes silkier, revealing a gentle drift of Hebridean peat smoke that lingers into a long, resinous, honeyed finish. Elegant, poised, and quietly maritime, it offers a vivid portrait of land, craft, and cask in perfect alignment.

We've been carrying the Baraillon Armagnacs for years now and it's been a match made in heaven for K&L, the Claverie family, and our customers—we're their biggest account and their biggest fans. There's something special about walking into the tasting room at Baraillon, which is really just a little hut next to their home with plastic furniture and humble offerings (like fresh foie gras straight from the farm next door). Mr. Baraillon will come in from feeding the pigs wearing rubber boots, while his daughter Laurence stands by quietly, yet does most of the talking. It's as "real" of a rustic French experience as I think exists, in that there's absolutely no romantic marketing or salesmanship going on in the room. You're simply stopping by a small farm in the Bas-Armagnac that sells meat, preserves, and also happens to have a little reserve Armagnac in the chai outside—some amazingly-delicious Armagnac, no less.

Built from two classic Willett family mash bills, the new 'Purple Top' Willett Family Estate Small Batch 4 Year Bourbon captures the vivid, high rye energy that has made the distillery’s house style so sought after. The blend brings together a 52 percent corn, 38 percent rye, 10 percent barley recipe with a companion mash of 72 percent corn, 13 percent rye, 15 percent barley, both filled at 125 proof, then married and bottled at a proof selected by Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen. The result is a young but confident bourbon with lifted spice, bright woody sweetness, and the polished structure that defines modern Willett releases. The nose carries cinnamon, citrus oil, vanilla, and warm rye bread. The palate layers caramel and honeyed corn with assertive rye spice and a pleasantly zesty finish that shows oak, mint, and pepper. It feels like a natural extension of the Willett Family Estate lineage, offering freshness, balance, and character that far outperform its age. A welcome new entry in the "Purple Top" lineup and one that captures both the heritage and forward energy of the Bardstown distillery.

The Old Particular brand has been one of K&L's mainstays offering an incredible array of single malts from across the spectrum. Each year, K&L hand selects the finest barrels and presents them to our customers at stupendous prices. This year we've selected two wonderful Caol Ila's. Each barrel represents a progression in the maturity that the special distillery exhibits as it ages. This special barrel was distilled in November of 2010 and represents the more brooding and powerful style of Caol Ila. It was bottled in August of 2025 at a full cask strength of 57.9% alv by vol.

The program being offered by Hirsch remains one of the most exciting in Kentucky today. These are those famous stocks that no one is supposed to talk about. Produced at an unnamed Bardstown distillery from their famous mashbill - 76% corn, 13% rye, & 15% malted barley. Those whiskies were rebarreled and aged for a further period at Bardstown Bourbon Company. Selected by our spirits team in early Spring of 2025 and bottled at cask strength. These are still inaurguably some of the most sought-after stocks in the industry - so much so that the exact same mashbill bottled by the distillery at the very same aged, easily commands 2-3 times the price at retail. Here we're more interested in getting our customers this special bourbon at an incredible price. These maybe the final stocks to ever be released of these special lot of whisky. This barrel was distilled on January 11th, 2018 and bottled in late June of 2025, making it 7.5 years old. At a barrel strength of 118.2 proof you'll not find a better Bardstown distilled bourbon on the market for less.

Suntory's Hakushu, known as the "forest distillery," was built in 1973 as a sister distillery to Suntory's Yamazaki (previously the only Japanese single malt available in the United States). The facility is located at a high-elevation site next to the pristine waters of the Ojira River, which are used to dilute the whisky itself. Hakushu distillery uses different styles of oak barrel to age their single malt, but mainly hogshead, which, according to the distillery is, "suitable to the clear air and cool humid climate." The 12-year old from Hakushu is lightly peated and very delicate in its flavor profile. The light and fruity style of the whisky is quite similar to the Yamazaki 12, but the smoke really makes up for any lack of richness. We've seen insane price increases over the last five years on Japanese whisky and inventory getting tighter and tighter, but for a limited time, we have Hakushu 12 in stock and available to sell, and at a fraction of the price you'll see at many other retailers across the country.

There is a tension and soul to the casks Bowmore releases to outside bottlers that is almost never exhibited in the official range. Perhaps the house style is sometimes shaped toward broad appeal, but no other Islay distillery offers such a wide spectrum of personality in its independent releases. Founded in 1779, Bowmore is a cornerstone of Islay’s whisky tradition. Situated on the shores of Loch Indaal, it maintains its own floor maltings and produces a spirit defined by a distinctive balance of coastal smoke and orchard fruit. This gorgeous, underpriced barrel was filled into refill bourbon on April 15, 2013 and bottled in March 2026. Casks like this serve as a timely reminder that greatness does not need to shout when it can smolder.
