Perfumed aromas of red currants, lavender, fresh thyme and graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with plush tannins and balanced acidity, giving flavors of raspberry coulis, red licorice and baking spices. Very soft and delicate, with a nicely constructed backbone. Drink or hold.
This is a solid red with iron and dark berries, as well as currants and hot stones. Full-bodied, layered and rich. Reserved and tight. Beautiful finish. One of the best values in serious Cabernet from California.
Bid on this 5-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 1993 Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Port, 1-bottle of 2003 Taylor's Vintage Port (97WE, 96RP, 96W&S, 96WS, 94JS), and 3-bottles of 2010 Ravenswood "Suite" Sonoma County Zinfandel Dessert Wine (375ml). Of the 2003 Taylor's Vintage Port, Wine Enthusiast writes: "Inky purple in color, this youngest Taylor vintage Port boasts a floral, wonderfully open and appealing bouquet, backed by layers of rich fruit. What makes this wine extra special is the seductive texture—somewhere between creamy and syrupy—and ample length. (JC)" (02/2007)

Lots of dark fruits with violets and peppery greens followed by cigar box, forest floor and graphite with cedar and dark chocolates. Wonderfully structured full-bodied wine. Very focused and concentrated with serious depth and length. Artful savory complexity to it. A blend of 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc, 4% petit verdot, 4% merlot and 2% malbec. Released in spring 2024. It already has a nice drinkability but will age gracefully. Drink or hold.
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95ST, 94VN, 94WS, 92CG, 91JS, 91WE). Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is built from completely different sources. Sixty-six percent came from the St. Helena Home Ranch, 18% from the Chabot Vineyard, and the rest from Beringer's estates in St. Helena, Rutherford and Coombsville. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that came in at 14.6% natural alcohol with a pH of 3.8. Perhaps the greatest Beringer Private Reserve since the 2007, 2005, 2002 and 2001, the 2010 offers up notes of lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, subtle smoke, wet rocks and background oak. Full-bodied, rich and impressive, it can be drunk now or cellared for two decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95JS, 93VN, 93WS). Wine Advocate: "Revealing the great blending skills of Beringer’s winemaking team, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is a winner. Having purchased Private Reserves for many years, I can attest that they age incredibly well. The 1991, one of the great successes of that vintage, is still aging beautifully at nearly 25 years of age. The sensational 2012 (10, 000 cases) boasts an opaque purple color along with abundant aromas of charcoal, burning embers, creme de cassis, chocolate, blackberries and licorice. The long, complex, compelling, full-bodied texture along with terrific purity and a savory, rich mouthfeel result in a classic, quintessential Napa Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now and over the next 20-25 years.
