A luscious, super-moreish tawny, with notes of sweet orange peel, mellow Madeira honey cake, almond/marzipan and salted caramel. Silky, honeyed mouthfeel, with praline to the finish. Satisfying and very complete, this 10-year-old is naughty but nice, polished and toothsome: a great execution of the house style (20cl bottle tasted). (SA)

A very pretty wood port with cherry, berry, walnut and chocolate aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and very sweet with focus, density and length. Fruity, yet pleasantly earthy.

The wine is rich, ripe and fruity with good acidity as well as a bite of spirit and old-wood aging. It is well balanced, keeping the freshness of a 10-Year-Old while also showing good signs of its wood aging. Just what a 10-Year-Old should be. (RV)

So here we are with the 10 YO Tawny: fig jam, figgy pudding. Lovely dark-red tones too – if you can imagine licking damson syrup off a cello; or the deep orange-red of membrillo off a lace of liquorice. It's very sweet but very fresh. *Very Good Value* (TC)

This is a good port to serve with a non-chocolate dessert course. The bombastically nutty and spicy profile complements your dessert course beautifully, when a more delicate style of Tawny would get crushed. Try it with creme brulee or pumpkin pie! An open bottle in the fridge will change very slowly, so pour it when called for... it will last for weeks or even months.

Notes

Graham's was founded in 1820 in Portugal's Douro Valley, and sits among the country's elite Port houses. For their aged Tawny Port bottlings, Graham's sources grapes from the pure schist soils of vineyards in the hot and dry mesoclimate at the heart of the Douro Valley. The 10-year has a deep tawny color and profile, but retains still retains a hint of fresh fruit at its modest age. Nuts and figs grace the nose and palate to represent Graham's house style of richness and versatility.
