Reviewed January 2026Textbook Clos de la Roche with 100% whole clusters, this bouquet starts with summer blooms, cherry pits and black plums. While a powerhouse of flavor (more rugby than soccer player), everything is proportionally aligned. Mildly chewy tannins meet vaulting acidity on the weighty palate with notable muscle. The second largest owner of this Grand Cru, Dujac is present in every lieu-dit, save Les Genavrières, making this a “true” Clos de la Roche.

The 2024 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru might be Dujac's standout this vintage. It has a touch more lift and fruit intensity compared to the Charmes-Chambertin. It is not opulent but would like to be. Lovely pure wild strawberry and raspberry scents, veins of blue fruit, becoming more floral in style with violet and peony. The palate is medium-bodied with an overtly spicy, curry leaf-tinged opening. Very cohesive, fine weight, the whole bunch vocal on the finish but simpatico with the fruit underneath. This will be very tempting in its youth but is one of the minority of 2024s that might repay cellaring.(NM)

Bright purple. A mix of red fruit and stem influence on the nose. The Clos de la Roche becomes more perfumed, with middleweight fresh red berries on the palate, then a stronger white pepper behind. The stems are more influential than the fruit and terroir just at the moment, but all the components are there and will deliver. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted Nov 2025.

More strongly marked by whole-cluster character than the Clos Saint-Denis, Dujac’s 2024 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru articulates aromas of cherry, raspberry, peony, iris and orange peel, mingled with a faint hint of moss. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, supple and layered, with a pure, vibrant core of fruit framed by powdery tannins and animated by vibrant acidity; elegant in profile, it concludes with a long, saline finish.(KK)

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Vibrant, quite dynamic aromas – deep, with faintly reductive stony elements at the base and a growing, beautifully floral perfume. Extra width and depth of flavour after the Charmes, a roundness, but also a more saturating style to the flavours. A suggestion of more austerity to this flavour profile versus the Charmes but how good is that !!"(01/2026)
