Reviewed October 2020The 0.55ha holding on a moderate slope in Genevrières Dessus was mostly planted just after the Second World War. In spite of the age of the vines, there is something ethereal and almost sublime about this bottling, with aromas that vary from lemon peel to ripe apple, walnut and spice. The texture is silky and very fine, with an elegance that will only increase with age. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039. (CC)

A naturally exotic nose features elegant, pure and beautifully layered aromas of jasmine tea, spiced pear and a hint of mandarin orange. The equally sleek though decidedly less muscular and powerful flavors flash fine persistence though not quite the same depth on the balanced finale. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*

The 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a strict, controlled bouquet offering very focused scents of white peach, walnut, smoke and subtle earthy aromas. The palate is well balanced, with a Charmes-like, quite honeyed opening, although the acidity kicks back nicely to maintain tension. A little spiciness comes through on the finish, which displays judicious notes of orange peel and white pepper. Excellent. (NM)

91-94pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Lemon and lime. Light reduction, very backward, will this develop the charm of the 2018? Starts quietly then really swells, a riper fruit here than the Porusots. I do not find it quite as harmonious today, though it is rare that this cuvée does not turn out to be among my favourites. Tasted: October 2020."
