Reviewed October 2018The Mondoca vineyard within the Bussia MGA is based on mostly white Diano sandstone - compact sands solidified with natural calcium carbonate. The nose of this wine is suggestive of a strawberry fruit and meaty complexity, underpinned by earthy minerality and a bitter orange note. On the palate the sternness of Bussia is obvious in its firm, velvety tannins and an amazing savoury finish. A very classic and powerful Barolo to cellar for decades to come. (AF)
