Pouring a deeper ruby red hue, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Centenario Fuligni has a riper, more fruit-driven profile on the nose, with black raspberries, baked red cherries, dark stones, rosemary, and refined resinous tones. The palate is medium to full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with ripe tannins and an expansive texture, and on a second tasting, a subtle note of worn leather folds in nicely. It’s the top selection of the vintage here and should drink beautifully with time. Drink 2026-2050. (AF)

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, which marks the winery's 100th anniversary, mixes masses of dried black cherries with dusty cedar spice box, an air of tobacco, worn leather and mint. It is seamless in feel, with silken depths of ripe red berry fruits as crisp mineral tones and hints of citrus build tension toward the close. Staining, chewy and long, the 2020 reveals its heroic structure as nuances of blood orange create a lovely punctuation under an air of rosy inner florals.
