2021 Covert Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This assemblage comes from grapes harvested from the estate, and grapes are purchased from neighbouring estates. Aged 22 months in roughly 50% new French oak. A very seductive wine with a bit more plushness and ripeness than you'd anticipate from Coombsville, but winemaker Julien Fayard says 'that is the point' with this wine, which serves as an introduction to the estate in terms of style. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon is super expressive in its dark berry fruit profile, wrapped in a warm, toasty oak spice blanket and scented with graham cracker crust and mocha, along with a host of dusty herbs and minerals. Round and rich with satiny black fruit, chocolaty tannins, and a wonderfully lifted and spicy finish.
