Raúl Pérez is a native of Valtuille de Abajo and one of Bierzo’s best-known winemakers. His 2024 Ultreia is made from Godello, a historic white grape of northwestern Spain. The name “Ultreia,” a traditional pilgrims’ salutation meaning “onward,” also connects naturally to Bierzo’s place along the Camino de Santiago.
