Winemaker Isabelle Meunier really leverages grace in this wine. This single vineyard bottling has an aromatic profile that reminds me why I first fell in love with Oregon Pinot Noir; richly turned soils and gunflint show the depth and core of this Pinot Noir's umami character. Lavinea's Tualatin Estate was planted on its own roots way back in 1974. This newish AVA's soils have iron deposits over classic Willamette Jory clay. The palate is silken, with stunning black bramble fruits, savoury notes of smoked sea salt and hints of smoky spice. It's elegant and nuanced and definitely delivers on beauty. Bravo.

A vibrant red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Tualatin Estate is also vibrant in the glass, offering beautiful potpourri spices as well as notes of red berries, cranberry, and orange peel. From 50-year-old vines, the wine offers a refined, fine-grained texture, with great finesse and clarity throughout. Give it another couple of years to put on some weight. At this stage, it’s beautiful and feels approachable, but don't let it fool you. Drink 2026-2040. 95+

The 2022 Lavinea ‘Tualatin Estate’ Pinot Noir stands translucent in the glass, offering red currants and guava puree on the nose with mulberry and orange rind notes. The palate is beautifully textured with good weight and lip-smacking acidity. Glorious now in it vibrant youth, enjoy over the next fifteen plus years.

Dusty yet aromatic, this red shows aromas of ripe cherries, dried cranberries, hibiscus and red spices. The medium-bodied palate is juicy and lithe, with soft tannins and a textural, lingering finish. Hints of crushed herbs at the end. Drink now.
