Jean-François Ganevat comes from a Jura winegrowing family dating back to 1650. After working at Domaine Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet, he returned home in 1998 to take over the family estate, now run alongside his sister Anne. The domaine farms just 8.5 hectares biodynamically, with an extraordinary 17 local grape varieties planted. Ganevat produces as many as 35-40 cuvées each year from estate and purchased fruit, giving each wine its own highly individualized élevage. His Burgundian-influenced approach and obsessive attention to detail have made him one of the Jura’s most celebrated and distinctive winemakers.
