Reviewed February 2026I tasted the 2024 Pinot Noir Le Caprice from barrel shortly before it was due to be bottled. It has expressive aromas of red and black cherry, citrus peel, Angostura bitters, mossy bark, licorice and well-integrated oak spice—it offers tremendous spiciness as it blossoms in the glass. The full-bodied palate is soft and spicy at this stage with grainy tannins, bright acidity and a long finish. It seems to be coming along a bit more slowly than the other Pinots from 2024. (EB)

Vinous
The 2024 Pinot Noir Le Caprice is a blend from some of the highest, steepest and most exposed blocks on the estate, conditions that naturally create notable stress in the vineyard. Rose petal, bright red-toned fruit, spice and white pepper race across the palate. Le Caprice is the most reticent of the three estate Pinots, a wine that shows a bit more focus and energy than in earlier years. Give this a bit of time to soften. (AG)

Raspberry and black cherry notes are steeped in feel. Flavors of mulling spices and black tea, plus a hint of singed blood orange peel, fill in through the toasty finish. Shy on energy but generous in feel. (JM)
