Burghound
Reviewed April 2021There is just enough reduction present to push the ripe fruit to the background. The rich, succulent and rounded middle weight flavors possess both good freshness and verve before concluding in a refreshing and balanced finish. This would make a good all-around house red.*Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*

Old vines, destemmed, aged in 600 litre barrels, including one barrel of declassified village Ladoix. One new barrel out of 10, now racked. Deep red crimson, very vibrant juicy stuff, not over ripe more in a sweet cherry style nonetheless. Sound balance behind. Tasted Oct 2019.

Vinous
From a selection of 60/65-year-old vines, the 2019 Bourgogne Côte d’Or "Sélection Pomone" was de-stemmed and underwent a longer skin maceration, aged in one-year old barrels and demi-muids. It has a fragrant strawberry and raspberry bouquet, the palate is a little sharp at the moment with a saline finish. Good potential - quite structured for this cuvée compared to past vintages.(NM)
