A slightly richer purple and effectively a wonderful rich fruit with a bit of toast from the newish demi-muid which represents 15% of the cuvée. But it is even classier tasted from barrel with a longer more seamless finish in rosy red. The two components together will be beautifully harmonious. Tasted Nov 2019.

Burghound
Review Date: 01/2020
Note: from a 1.7 ha parcel of vines planted in 1902. A riper and spicier nose is also more deeply pitched with its blend of liqueur-like dark raspberry, poached plum and plenty of humus-inflected earth. There is even better volume to the concentrated middle weight flavors as well as equally good delineation to the stony, sappy and lingering finish that also flashes a touch of youthful austerity. Moreover, the structure is notably firmer and this should amply reward 12 to 15 years of patience yet be approachable after only 5 to 7. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*
