Reviewed August 2025The Windy Hill Vineyard is located at the top of the property, replanted in 2012 at a very high density, featuring a mix of Calera, Mt. Eden, and Swan clones. Harvest is done over three to five picks. There is a lot of whole cluster in the 2023, over 50% for this finished wine. Wild garrigue and arboreal character with notes of freshly chopped cedar. On the palate, the fruit shines through with rounded notes of ripe strawberries and a mix of exotic spices, savoury mint, and ocean brine. (CP)

The 2023 Pinot Noir Windy Hill Vineyard is the highest-elevation vineyard on the estate and the only site that's been replanted. An incredibly rocky site, the vines here are now 13 years old. The 2023 opens with a generous, complex bouquet that unfurls with floral and savory undertones. Accented by a higher proportion of stems than the other wines in the portfolio, the Windy Hill delivers notes of split pine, lavender and undergrowth. The suave, textural, mineral-drenched finish is a tiring of beauty. This is one of the more singular wines in the range. (BN)
