2024 Domaine Latour-Giraud Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chenes"

Note: the parcel is more to the southern side by Monthélie side than to the north by Taillepieds. In contrast to the prior two wines, here the nose is bright, airy, cool and super-fresh with its array of various red berries, plum and spice wisps. There is excellent punch, if only average density, to the ultra-sleek and overtly mineral-driven flavors that possess a lovely texture thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins shaping the balanced and lightly austere finale. Like all competent examples of Clos des Chênes, this is going to require at least mid-term keeping. Lovely.
