Far right end, higher up on the mother rock. A lifted bright lemon colour. Class on the nose, rather than evident weight. Stylish and ethereal, with a good acid-based backbone, dances to the back of the palate. Note the style from the location of the vineyard, a cooler plot within the large Folatières vineyard. Very long finish indeed for the vintage. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted Nov 2025.

The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is much more backward than the Les Referts at the moment. Crushed stone, a little more yellow fruit by comparison, a hint of orange blossom. It's alluringly standoffish! The palate is quite intense, focused and delineated. Not quite the amplitude or ambition of the Les Referts but it does fan out wonderfully on the finish, suggesting there is something there for those with the nous to leave it in the cellar for a few years.(NM)

Note: from a parcel in Ez Folatières near Truffières. Soft reduction still allows a suggestion of citrus rind to be seen. On the palate, there is excellent punch and volume to the delicious and seductively textured, even caressing, medium-bodied flavors that possess a subtle minerality on the moderately austere, balanced and impressively long bone-dry finish. This is nothing short of terrific and a wine that should also amply repay extended keeping. One to strongly consider.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "High and near Truffière and Garenne – ‘we’re really on the limestone rocks here, it’s the last parcel near Blagny on high, higher than Meursault Perrières with a view to Chevalier in the distance.’ A more open freshness of aroma – tiny acidiulated fruit impression on the nose. Here is the density of flavour, but presented in the context of much flavour energy. Broader finishing, holding in a very different, wider style to the Referts. More white flowers with the softer fruit here. I subtly prefer the extra fruit definition of the Referts to this softer aspect – but I’m splitting hairs – this is great too!!"(01/2026)
