Reviewed January 2026The 2023 Cuvée Pressonnier is also excellent. The bouquet is classically black fruity in its mix of cassis, dark berries, smoked meats, a fine base of dark soil tones, a nice touch of spice and a deft framing of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and nicely structured for Bourgogne, with a fine core, good soil signature and grip, modest tannins and a long, complex and well balanced finish. This will want a year longer in the cellar than the Marsannay-based version, but will also age longer. (Drink between 2029-2045)

Note: 25% new oak and from vines of 45+ years of age; until 1994 this portion of Pressonnier was classified as Gevrey villages.A discreet application of wood is present on the ever-so-slightly riper aromas of plum, black raspberry and just turned earth. There is a bit more refinement if not density to the delicious medium weight flavors that are unusually powerful in the context of what is typical for the genre, all wrapped in a dusty and even firmer finale. This too is very good and warmly recommended if you're looking for an age-worthy Bourgogne.*Burghound Outstanding!*

A brisk dark red to crimson colour. Very lively, with a good depth of fruit, filling the mouth. Dark raspberry, tannins folded in, balanced acidity. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted Nov 2025.

The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pressonier had a bit of reduction on the nose, though that lifts to reveal raspberry and wild hedgerow scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins and good backbone with tart red berry fruit towards the finish. Fine.(NM)
