2019 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

Int'l Wine Review

A little more structure is showing than what’s typical for a Jordan Cabernet. Clearly the vintage allowed for it and they embraced it. What is typical is the level of excellence when delivering the purity of the Alexander Valley profile, with some oak still integrating. It was a favorite with my tasting group even in its youth, and it should calm over the next ten years into a real beauty. Contains 10% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec

Wonderful aromatic intensity with notes of cassis, cacao and anise that jump out of the glass upon the first sniff. Some rosemary and thyme also show up at the end. With a silky, juice-like texture, black and red fruits explode on the palate upon first sip and softened by Earl Grey tea on the finish. (JG)

Excellent concentration and a classic flavor profile of black cherries, black olives and toasted oak give good reasons to buy and enjoy this Sonoma County icon. Firmly structured with fine-grained tannis and equally generous in black fruits, the wine is well-balanced and trim in body. (JG)
