Produced by fourth-generation grower Toni Carbó of Mas Candi in the Penedès region of Catalonia, it embodies the fresh, energetic style that has made La Salada one of Spain's most respected natural wine producers. Toni farms organically and biodynamically, using native yeasts, minimal intervention, and little to no added sulfur. The name "El Pagès Content" translates roughly as "The Happy Farmer." The series is intended as a tribute to the traditional Catalan farming families who worked the land with pride and joy, and the wines are made to be uncomplicated, joyful expressions of each vintage rather than heavily manipulated or highly extracted bottlings. In the glass, El Pagès Content Negre is the opposite of a rich, oaky Spanish red. It's light-bodied, juicy, and vibrant, with aromas of wild strawberries, sour cherry, raspberry, blood orange, crushed herbs, and a subtle earthy note. Best served slightly chilled!
