Gently ripe black fruits, orange blossom, dried violets and tints of white pepper introduce the 2024 Saint-Joseph, a medium-bodied and focused version. Propped up by pixelated acidity and ripe tannins, the 2024 used 80% whole clusters during fermentation, adding gentle stemminess. Seamlessly textured and expertly balanced, the 2024 potentially outranks the 2023 tasted alongside, lifting the long finish with precision. (NG)

clear red robe; there is peppery lift on the nose, coulis of raspberry, rose perfume, good glint, is Burgundian, Pinot-esque. This is cool, tuned wine, red fruited with mineral, salivate style, coasts along, the tannins fine before developing a more vegetal-white pepper phase into the finish, marked crunch there, iron on the aftertaste. It glides along, then becomes serious, has silken tones within, a good blood-mineral late thrust. It’s rather complex, has hidden corners, is graceful, but also has deep intent, isn’t a patsy, will gain gradually over time, so don’t rush it. "The cold of the winter will render it more dense," - Jean Gonon.
