Reviewed September 2023This is a delicious and beautifully structured Sauvignon Blanc with 6% Sémillon from 2020 by winemaker Sam Kaplan. It’s fresh and inviting with aromatic citrus and nutty aromas leading to a medium-bodied white wine with a beautiful mid-palate weight and depth of candied citrus flavours framed by zesty acidity and jasmine florals tinged with honeysuckle. It’s all too easy to drink and strikes a perfect balance of creaminess from 11 months sur-lie in concrete egg and portions aged in new and used French oak. Aged fully 18 months in the bottle before release. (JC)

It's primarily barrel-fermented and aged in a mix of new and used wood, although there's a concrete-egg component as well. The result is a delightful mix of pineapple, fig, melon and grapefruit, accented by slightly pungent, boxwood-y notes.
