2022 Arkenstone "Heimark Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a stellar example of thoughtful winemaking. Dynamic and polished, showcasing a rich, centred core. Beautifully perfumed and floral, with high-toned violet and lilac notes, complemented by crème de cassis, crème de menthe and nuances of espresso bean. Full-bodied and expressive on the palate, with ultra-fine, powdery tannins that frame succulent, rich blue fruit tones that will evolve into darker notes with time. An undercurrent of freshness shines through, highlighting its vibrancy and balance. Sam Kaplan began working with Heimark Vineyard in 2010, a site situated just over the AVA line on the eastern side of Calistoga, at approximately 304m. The vineyard, developed by the legendary Napa viticulturist Mike Wolf, produces exceptional fruit. This wine was aged for 22 months in 80% new French oak. (JC)
