The 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo pours a jeweled ruby color and remains youthful at this stage, likely benefiting from a few more months in bottle. Aromas of wild strawberries and delicate flowers lead into a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins, a touch of grip, and refreshing acidity. The 2024 G.D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo (DOC) is a masterclass in transparency, precision, and high-toned varietal purity. While the house's "Claré JC" looks to the playful past, their classic Langhe Nebbiolo is a highly elegant, structural, and intellectual monument to the grape. Giuseppe Vaira crafts this benchmark from younger estate vines across choice parcels in Barolo (including Baudana, Fossati, and Coste di Vergne), rooted in classic Tortonian marls and sand. Seeking an unmanipulated expression, fermentation is long and cool, followed by aging strictly in stainless steel and neutral Slavonian oak botti.
