Notes
The 2018 Castello di Perno "Castelletto" Barolo (DOCG) is a remarkably expressive, vertical, and intellectually compelling red that beautifully navigates the challenges of a softer vintage by leaning hard into site-specific Monforte precision. Winemaker Stefano Gagliardo crafts this single-cru monument from the estate's choice plots within the Castelletto MGA, where the steep, east-facing slopes are dominated by the classic Formazioni di Lequio—a compact mix of silt, clay, and calcareous sandstone.
