Reviewed January 2026A richer fresh ruby colour, with heady pure red fruit up front, raspberry and cherry, with the stems less immediately apparent. Headily and exuberant, fruit driven, slightly more sweetness of fruit. The stems are entirely integrated. For once, my clear preference over Clos de la Roche. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Nov 2025.

Starting with overt mintiness and fireplace embers, the palate brings on blackberries and black currants. The palate is harmonious and finessed with well-placed tannins, integrated acidity and light fruit plumpness. This is predominantly old vine fruit—with bits having been replanted in 2014—and comes from Clos St-Denis and Les Chaffots.

The 2024 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is showing superbly, without any sense of the challenges the vintage presented, blossoming in the glass with aromas of peony and sweet cherry mingled with raspberry, chocolate, Sichuan pepper and a faint hint of moss. On the palate, it is full-bodied, layered and textural, with a deep core of fruit, a complete and seamless profile and sweet, satiny tannins. Offering impressive concentration in the context of the vintage and concluding with a long, rose petal-inflected finish, it stands out as one of the range’s high points.(KK)

The 2024 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a fragrant bouquet, perhaps a touch more precise than the Clos de la Roche, more nuanced with hints of chalk and oyster shells that infuse the red fruit. The whole bunch is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, touches of black pepper, again quite spicy. Fine depth towards the finish though naturally not powerful or substantial like the previous two vintages. This is an able "sparring partner" for the excellent Clos de la Roche.(NM)

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "One of the largest owners here with 1.4 ha. Extra transparency, extra energy, extra complexity to this super-aromatic nose. Depth… Hmm, what an impressive, absorbing wine; it’s fluid but slightly linear, with a mm of tannic (grainless!) cushion. A touch of extra whole cluster flavour in the chewy finish. That’s a great, young, wine – though surprisingly approachable already."(01/2026)
