Reviewed May 2024Ripe cherries and plum skin with hints of cocoa, dark spices, mushrooms and sandalwood on the nose. Firm and structured with a medium to full body. Shows tension and good volume, with succulent fruit in the middle. Better after two to three years. (AS)

Vigna Rionda lies in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the historic communes of Piedmont’s Barolo zone. Pico Maccario’s 2018 bottling bears the name of this officially recognized vineyard area, within an appellation whose red wines are made exclusively from Nebbiolo.
