Reviewed January 2026Pale lemon colour. The usual fractionally herbal tang to this Genevrières, medium bodied at first but deceptive in that the concentration becomes more evident further back. Less cream and more biscuit evident in the oak treatment here compared to Charmes. Perhaps a little more persistent as well. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Oct 2025.

Note: also from a .52 ha parcel. Slightly cooler aromas include those of lemon-lime, green apple and an array of spice wisps that include hints of exotic Asian-style tea, all of which is also trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the middle weight flavors that flash evident minerality on the chiseled, clean, moderately dry and strikingly long finale. This is pretty much textbook Genevrières.*Burghound Outstanding!*

The 2024 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a more generous bouquet than the Les Charmes-Dessus: yellow fruit, hints of walnut and sesame becoming more lanolin-like with aeration. Superb delineation. The palate is well balanced with a silver thread of acidity woven through the slightly peachy apricot tinged fruit. Good weight on the finish, this is an impressive follow-up to the 2023.(NM)
