An overtly floral-suffused and markedly smoky nose displays nuances of acacia, lilac and rose petal along with touch of pear, citrus and discreet wood influence. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess a gorgeous mouthfeel that is at once generous but punchy while retaining the innate class of a fine Charmes on the youthfully austere, balanced and citrusy finish that flashes excellent persistence. Impressive and a wine that is very much built to repay extended keeping.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Mid lemon yellow. A little more opulence to the fruit, though it still needs some coaxing out. A refined rather than fleshy style chez Bouzereau this year. A little more weight at the back of the palate, supported by the oak. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Oct 2025.

The 2024 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a delineated, precise nose that does not wish to show off. Quite backward at first but then it gradually unveils scents of crushed stone, hazelnut and litchi. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, hints of orange pith and peach skin, gently fanning out towards the finish with a conspicuous spiciness on the aftertaste. Promising.(NM)
