The 2023 Marchese Antinori "Tenuta Tignanello" Chianti Classico Riserva (DOCG) is a deeply aristocratic, polished, and masterfully structured red that offers a direct window into the pedigree of the famed Tignanello estate in San Casciano in Val di Pesa. Crafted primarily from Sangiovese ($\sim 90\%$) with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon, this bottling represents a highly modern and ambitious interpretation of the region. The fruit is sourced entirely from the specific, stone-rich marly-limestone plots of the estate, then fermented in stainless steel with precise extraction. Unlike traditionalist styles, it undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and around a year of aging in French and Hungarian oak barriques, resulting in a seamlessly layered, supple frame.
