Blended with 5% Syrah and raised in 40% new oak for 14 months, the 2023 Grenache El Jabali Vineyard is one sexy Grenache that ticks all my boxes. Deep ruby-hued and almost opaque, it offers black raspberries, peppery garrigue, spring flowers, and crushed stone. Reminiscent of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Mon Aïeul from Pierre Usseglio, it's medium to full-bodied, balanced, layered, and seamless, with ripe tannins. Drink 2025-2037.

Wow, a deep, dark and saturated red with awesome black fruit flavors on a bold, broad texture. Baked plum, black cherry, spicy oak and cedar notes braced by a rather tannic structure. Drink now or hold.

Wine Advocate
The 2023 Grenache El Jabalí captures the naturally intense and darkly hued nature that I consistently find in Central Coast Grenache in this vintage. It bounds from the glass with an expressive, powerful bouquet of black and blue fruits, purple flowers, turned earth and bergamot, followed by a round, supple and seamless palate. The finish is taut and introverted, yet it lingers with an impressively refined structure enlivened by chalky, saline tannins and citrus notes. This is quite wound up at the moment and should develop quite well in the cellar through its 10th birthday. 94+

Vinous
The 2023 Grenache El Jabali was done with 5% whole clusters. It's a powerful, curvy, concentrated wine with impressive density in the mid-palate. It's not a particularly varietal wine, as the blue/black quality of the fruit feels more like Syrah than Grenache, but the richness and creaminess here are just irresistible.
