Reviewed July 2022The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio Vineyard has a deep ruby color and pure, deep aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries, violet and thyme, with nuances of coffee beans, graphite and eucalyptus emerging as it spends time in the glass. The full-bodied palate has a seamless, velvety frame and intense, layered fruits, with notable freshness and length. Its youthful new-oak spice is still integrating, and it's a touch more reserved than the other 2019s in the Aperture portfolio. It deserves several more years in bottle. 464 cases were made. (EB)

Sourced from the estate's steepest slope, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio Vineyard was aged in 100% new French oak. It is rich with pine resin, blackberry and perfectly ripe black plum. The palate is full and has another gear delivering blackcurrant, richly tannic structure, and a fine spine of acidity. This warrants another year or two in bottle before drinking over the next 15 or more years. 95+ (AF)

Ripe, with gutsy black currant and black fig fruit flavors, backed by well-roasted cedar and alder notes and carried by a broad beam of warm earth and tobacco. For those who prefer the not-shy style. (JM)
