Quintodecimo’s “Vigna Grande Cerzito” Taurasi Riserva comes from a one-hectare cru of Aglianico planted in 2004 on the southern side of the estate. The vineyard sits at 440 meters in elevation on a 15% slope, with volcanic soils formed from ash and pumice. These deep, well-drained soils are coarse in texture and provide excellent oxygen availability to the roots, helping shape a wine of depth, structure, and longevity. Grande Cerzito is marked by refined notes of cherry, plum, and chocolate, supported by a full yet polished structure. Built for long aging, it becomes more elegant and complex with time, developing fresh aromatic notes of mint, eucalyptus, and incense as it evolves in bottle. Founded in 2001 by Luigi Moio and Laura De Feo in Mirabella Eclano, Quintodecimo has become one of Irpinia’s reference-point estates for site-specific Campanian wines. Taurasi Riserva carries a longer DOCG aging requirement than regular Taurasi, including extended time before release, which fits the estate’s patient approach to its top Aglianico bottlings.
