Reviewed September 2008Bright ruby-red. Black raspberry and candied cherry on the nose, with subtle smoked meat, baking spice and floral qualities. Sharply focused red and dark berry flavors gain weight and sweetness with air and pick up vanilla and cola notes. Silky tannins carry through a long, sweet finish, which leaves a strong berry note behind. (JR)
Notes
“Vi de Taula” is the Catalan and Valencian term for table wine, and Muro Negre points to a red wine tied to Muro, in the Valencian/Alicante orbit rather than one of Spain’s larger DOs represented in the region dropdowns. Without a stated grape composition, it is best treated as a Spanish red with the blend left open for review.
