The 2024 Evangelho Vineyard Heritage reveals wild black raspberries, crushed strawberries, floral perfume, and pretty spice tones with terrific complexity but without excess weight. Coming from own-rooted vines planted in the 1890s alongside some mixed varieties, it’s medium-bodied, with excellent tannins and a long finish. It’s stunning and should only improve over the next several years. Drink over the coming 15 years. Drink 2027-2040.

The 2024 Evangelho Vineyard Heritage comes from own-rooted vines planted in the 1890s. It’s composed of around 70% Zinfandel plus other grapes like Carignan and Mourvèdre interplanted in the vineyard, and it matured in used oak. It has pure, expressive aromas of raspberry, blackberry, brewed tea, dried flowers and underbrush. The full-bodied palate is elegantly styled with understated, earth-laced flavors, succulent acidity, soft, dusty tannins and a long, nuanced finish.
