2023 Domaine Servin Chablis "Les Pargues"

I know that there are segments of the market that like screwcaps, but it breaks my heart to see such a beautiful terroir as les Pargues bottled under this closure, rather than a natural cork. This release was given fully two years of élevage in tank, as the wine was bottled in a couple of batches in 2023 and was showing beautifully in January. The bouquet is deep and bright, offering up a lovely blend of lemon, pear, a complex base of chalky soil, lime blossoms and a topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is bright, complex and full, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent soil undertow, zesty acids and a long, well balanced and nicely precise finish. Fine juice.
