2023 Domaine Labet "Savagnin Maceration Le Crêt" Côtes du Jura Blanc

See Product Details
Importer Notes: This year's maceration Savagnin emerges from the Le Crêt lieu-dit, known for its colorful marl soils atop Bathonian bedrock. Half the grapes were destemmed while the remaining clusters were kept intact. The maceration lasted upwards of 10 days followed by elevage in both amphorae and used 228l barrels. This experimental wine is only possible due to the great natural acidity and strikingly low pH found in the Savagnin variety. While some may refer to this as an orange wine, this is far from an ordinary version, representing a very lively and balanced version of the style.
