Simmering black cherry aromas dusted with a full spice cabinet lift from the glass in an almost ghostly manner. Dried rose petals along side sage, bay leaf, thyme and black tea develop as the wine opens. Just like a wave the wine stars off in the distance but swells to a crescendo of tart red fruits, savory spices, tobacco and dried earth. Elegant tannins hold the wine in place wanting to share the load with a savory dish of roasted meats and veggies. (JP)

A luscious cherry and raspberry center gives this wine a generous, welcoming profile despite typically taut tannins. Great acidity balances the delicious red fruits that build on the palate and linger in the finish. Best from 2027. (JS)
