2025 Anonymous Wine Collective Petaluma Gap Chardonnay

A stunning bottle of Chardonnay from one of the most famous vineyards in the region, offered at a price that is almost unheard of. That’s the power of Anonymous. I was incredibly excited to get this wine into bottle and into your hands after tasting through barrels with the winemaker earlier this spring. The final blend we put together comes almost entirely from a famed vineyard owned by one of the most prestigious growers in the region. We could easily have bottled it as a single-vineyard wine, but one experimental blend incorporated a couple of barrels from a very rocky mountainside block, and we absolutely loved the extra tension, energy, and minerality it brought to the wine. The wine was entirely barrel fermented, with 30% new French oak providing a sophisticated frame for the fruit without overwhelming its purity or sense of place. Wines from these vineyards and this producer typically sell for three times the price of this Anonymous Wine Collective bottling. Better still, we were able to taste through the cellar and hand-select our favorite barrels for the final blend.
